g) Connecting the Drive battery to the Speed Controller
First switch off the speed controller. Put the On/Off switch
(seearrowintheguretotheright)intothe„OFF“positi-
onforthis.Observethelabelsnexttotheslider.
Check the setting of the battery type (see chapter 9. c).
Then switch on the transmitter (see chapter 9. d) and
9. e).
Remember to put the trimming for the steering and driving
functions into the centre position.
To prevent sudden start-up of the wheels and therefore uncontrolled starting of the model, place the model
vehicleonasuitablesupport(orstartingbox),sothatthewheelscanturnfreelyincaseofanerror.Donot
reach into the drive. Do not hold the wheels.
Now connect the drive battery to the speed controller. Ensure correct polarity (red cable = plus/+, black cable =
minus/-).
h) Switching on
Switchonthespeedcontrollerbymovingtheslider(seegureinchapter9.g)intothe„ON“position.Thenwaitfora
fewseconds(leavethethrottle/brakeleveronthetransmitterintheneutralposition;donotmoveit)untilthespeed
controller has completed its self-test.
Whenswitchingon,aredLEDonthespeedcontrollerwilllightupbriey.Thenthemotorwillemitabeep
(the beep is caused by a brief activation of the motor by the speed controller).
If the transmitter signal is recognised and the throttle/brake lever at the transmitter is in the neutral position
theredLEDwilllightupagainbrieyafteronesecondandasecondbeepwillsound.
The speed controller is then ready for operation.
In case of fault (when the speed controller has not recognised any transmitter signal or correct neutral
position),theredLEDwillcontinuetoash.Thespeedcontrollercannotbetakenintooperation.
Now check the drive and steering functions of the vehicle.
TheLEDatthespeedcontrollergoesoutintheneutralpositionorashesredwhendrivingforwardandbackwards.
The LED remains lit red when driving forwards and at full throttle.
i) Attaching and Fastening the Car Body
Now put the car body on the holders and fasten the vehicle panelling with the safety clips removed at the start.
