e) Inserting the drive battery
Attention!
Thedrivebatterymustnotyetbeconnectedtothespeedcontroller.Firstswitchontheremotecontrol,see
section 9. c) and d).
Important!
Thisvehicleisonlysuitableforusewitha6-cellNiMHbattery(nominalvoltage7.2V)ora2-cellLiPobat-
tery (nominal voltage 7.4 V).
Whenusingadriverechargeablebatterywithmorecells,thereisadangerofreresultingfromthespeed
controller overheating. In addition, the vehicle's drive will be overloaded and thus damaged (e.g. differen-
tial).Thiswillvoidthewarranty!
Check whether the battery has a suitable connector system for the speed controller and that the polarity is
correct (red cable = positive/+, black cable = negative/-).
Loosen the two straps (A) on the battery holder.
Insert the drive battery into the battery holder (B).
If the battery’s connection cable is very short, the battery
must be inserted into the battery holder with connection
cable pointing forward.
Pull the two hook-and-loop straps (A) tight so that the drive
batteryisrmlyheldinplaceandfastenthehook-and-loop
strap.
f) Connecting the drive battery to the speed controller
Placethevehicleonasuitablebase(orastartbox)sothatthewheelscanmovefreely.Thisensuresthat
you will not lose control of the vehicle if the wheels move suddenly (e.g. if the throttle trim is not set cor-
rectly).
Do not reach into the drive. Do not hold the wheels.
Switchoffthespeedcontroller(movetheswitchtothe"OFF"position).Theon/offswitchcanbefoundatthetopof
thechassis,nexttothesteeringservo.Then,ifnotalreadydone,starttheremotecontrol(seesection9.d)ande).
Connect the drive battery to the speed controller. Ensure that the battery is inserted in the correct polarity (red cable
= positive/+, black cable = negative/-). Do not use force when connecting the battery plug to the speed controller.
Important!
Thisvehicleisonlysuitableforusewitha6-cellNiMHbattery(nominalvoltage7.2V)ora2-cellLiPobat-
tery (nominal voltage 7.4 V).
Make sure that the cable cannot get into the vehicle's drive or into the steering mechanism. If necessary, use cable
ties to fasten the cables.
