b) Checking the Rotor Blade Retainer
To allow the four main rotor blades (1) to orient themselves
at a 180° angle to each other during operation, the blades
must be supported on the blade holders so that they can
move easily.
If you pitch the model helicopter to the side by 90°, the
rotor blades must be able to fold downwards on their own
asillustratedinthegure.
c) Checking the Centrifugal Weight
The centrifugal weight (1) must be easily movable, just like
the main rotor blades.
Manually move the centrifugal weight up and down on one
side(seearrowsingure7)andensurethattheballjoints
(2) can be moved easily.
The mechanics must run smoothly, but should not have
any play in their bearings.
