15. Troubleshooting
Even though the model and the remote control system were built with the latest available technology, there can still
be malfunctions or errors. For this reason, we would like to give you some information on how to deal with possible
problems. Also observe the enclosed operating instructions for the remote control system.
The model doesn’t respond or does not respond properly
• Checkthesettingofthedrivemode;seechapter10.c).Alwayschoosenormalmodeforyourbuggy(andnotcraw-
ler mode).
• For2.4GHzremotecontrolsystems,thereceivermustbetaughttothetransmitter.Thisprocessmaybereferred
to by the terms of „Binding“ or „Pairing“.
 Theteachingprocessusuallywasperformedbythemanufactureralready;however,itcan,ofcourse,alsobedone
by you. Also observe the separately enclosed operating instructions for the remote control system.
• Arethevehicledrivebatteryorthebatteries/rechargeablebatteriesinthetransmitterdischarged?Exchangethe
drive battery or batteries/rechargeable batteries in the transmitter for new ones.
• Didyouswitchonthetransmitterrstandthenthespeedcontroller?Thespeedcontrollerwillnotworkforreasons
of safety in case of reverse order.
• Isthedrivebatteryconnectedtothespeedcontrollercorrectly?Checktheplugconnectionsforwhetheritisconta-
minated or oxidised.
• Isthedrivebatteryfullycharged?Thisvehicleneedseithera6-cellNiMHdrivebattery(ratedvoltage7.2V)ora
2-cell LiPo drive battery (rated voltage 7.4 V).
When using a LiPo drive battery, ensure that the undervoltage recognition is switched on (see chapter 10. b). For a
NiMH drive battery, switch off the undervoltage recognition.
• Ifthevehiclestopswhendriving,theundervoltagerecognitionmayhavebeenactivatedsincethevoltageofthe
connected rechargeable battery has dropped below 6.0 V. Connect a new fully charged rechargeable battery to the
vehicle.
• Theovertemperatureprotectionofthespeedcontrollerhasbeenactivated.Waitforafewminutesuntilthespeed
controller has cooled off.
• Isthevehicletoofaraway?Withafullychargeddrivebatteriesandfullychargedbatteries/rechargeablebatteries
inthetransmitter,therangeshouldbe50mandmore.Therangecanbedecreasedbyoutsideinuences,suchas
interference on the transmitter frequency, or proximity to other transmitters (not only remote controller transmitters
but also WLAN/Bluetooth devices that also use a transmission frequency of 2.4 GHz), metal parts, buildings, etc.
 Thepositionoftransmitterandreceiveraerialtoeachotherverystronglyinuencesrange.Itisbestwhenboththe
transmitter and receiver aerial are vertical. If you point the transmitter aerial at the vehicle, the range will be very
short!
• Checkthecorrectpositionofthespeedcontrollerandsteeringservoplugsinthereceiver.Iftheplugsareinserted
rotated by 180°, the speed controller and steering servo will not work.
If, however, the speed controller and steering servo plugs are swapped, the throttle/brake lever at the transmitter
controls the steering servo, and the wheel controls driving!
