A professional home ironing system, starting with the J490A and using a high quality-ironing table (preferably with vacuum and blowing functions) is the surest way of achieving professional results at home. The excellent steam quality of this product will allow you to save time while ironing.
IMPORTANT SAFETY INSTRUCTIONS When using your Reliable™ home ironing system, basic safety precautions should always be followed. Please read the following instructions carefully as they provide important information concerning how to install, use and care for this steam iron station. • • • • • • • • • • • • • • • Use the ironing system only for its intended use. To protect against a risk of electric shock, do not immerse the iron or boiler in water or any other liquids.
ELECTRICAL INSTRUCTIONS To avoid a circuit overload, do not operate another high-wattage appliance on the same circuit simultaneously with the steam iron. If an extension cord is necessary, a 15-amp rated cord with a polarized plug should be used. Cords rated for less may overheat and cause damage. POLARIZED PLUG This steam iron system uses a polarized plug (one blade is wider than the other). As a safety feature, this plug will fit into a polarized outlet only one way.
PROGRAMMING INSTRUCTIONS 1. There are 4 red LED lights, each one representing a different level of water hardness. One red LED light is for the softest water, four red LED lights is for the hardest water. 2. To set the programme, hold the button “R” (Diagram B – #6) button down while at the same time turning the boiler on/off switch (Diagram C – #5) on. 3. The green LED (5) will start to flash. 4.
TEST FIRST, THEN IRON Prior to ironing on delicate fabrics, it is a good idea to do a test in a hidden area (like the reverse side) to ensure that no damage is done to the fabric. HOW TO USE YOUR IRONING SYSTEM 1. Unscrew the water fill cap (10). 2. Using a bottle or any other container, fill the tank (9) up to a maximum of .7 quarts of water (0.65L or 2.75 cups) or remove the tank by pushing the lever (8) outwards while simultaneously lifting the water tank out, take it to a faucet and fill it as well to the maximum amount. Put the cap back on the boiler when done, and place the water container back into its original position. 3.
THIS MODEL IS PROVIDED WITH THE FOLLOWING FEATURES Red control light (4) A red warning light turns on to signal that the water in the tank has been exhausted and there will also be the sound of a buzzer in case you did not see the red light. A continual humming of the pump comes before this. At this point you have to switch off the ironing system by turning the power switch off, fill the tank with water and switch back on.
FILLING THE TANK Equipped with CSS™ (Continuous Steam System) your steam iron system can be filled anytime during the ironing operation.

To avoid risk of electric shock, do not disassemble or attempt to repair the unit on your own. Return the unit to Reliable Corporation (see warranty) for examination, repair or replacement. Un système de repassage professionnel pour la maison, à commencer par le J490A, et en utilisant une table de repassage de haute qualité (de préférence avec les fonctions de souffleur et aspirateur), est le moyen le plus sûr d’atteindre des résultats de qualité professionnelle à la maison.

INSTRUCTIONS ÉLECTRIQUES Pour éviter les surcharges de circuit, n’utilisez pas un autre appareil à puissance élevée sur le même circuit simultanément avec votre fer à vapeur. Si un cordon d’extension est nécessaire, un cordon nominal de 15 ampères avec une prise polarisée doivent être utilisés. Les cordons cotés pour moins d’ampères peuvent se surchauffer et entraîner des dommages. PRISE POLARISÉE Ce système de repassage à vapeur utilise une prise polarisée (l’une des lames est plus large que l’autre).
LE PROGRAMMEUR DE DÉTARTRAGE EST CONFIGURÉ COMME SUIT : Diagramme (B) Le voyant DEL rouge indique le niveau de dureté de l’eau. INSTRUCTIONS DE PROGRAMMATION 1. REMARQUE SPÉCIALE Le système d’avertissement anticalcaire J490A s’éteindra automatiquement après 57 galons (218 litres) d’eau, si les instructions de programmation n’ont pas été suivies. Nous vous suggérons de nettoyer premièrement la chaudière suivant les instructions de nettoyage tels que décrits à la page 22. Puis programmez le système anticalcaire suivant les instructions ci-dessus (#2 – #5) pour réinitialiser le programmeur.

COMMENT UTILISER VOTRE SYSTÈME DE REPASSAGE 1. Dévissez le bouchon de remplissage d’eau (10). 2. À l’aide d’une bouteille ou de tout autre contenant, remplissez le réservoir (9) jusqu’à un maximum de 7 quarts d’eau (0.65 l ou 2.75 tasses) ou enlevez le réservoir en poussant le levier (8) vers l’extérieur lorsque vous soulevez le réservoir d’eau. Ensuite, amenez-le jusqu’au robinet et remplissez-le jusqu’à la quantité maximum.
CE MODÈLE POSSÈDE LES CARACTÉRISTIQUES SUIVANTES Lumière de contrôle rouge (4) Une lumière d’avertissement rouge s’allume lorsque l’eau du réservoir s’est vidée et il y aura aussi le sons d’avertissement au cas où vous n’aviez pas vu la lumière rouge. Un bruit bourdonnement continu de la pompe est saisi avant celui-là. En ce moment, vous devez éteindre le système à repassage en mettant l’interrupteur de puissance en arrêt, puis remplissez le réservoir avec de l’eau et rallumez-le.
REMPLISSER LE RÉSERVOIR Équipé avec le système CSSMC (Continuous Steam System), votre système de repassage à vapeur peut être rempli à tout moment pendant l’opération de repassage.

INSTRUCCIONES ELECTRICAS Para evitar un corto circuito, no opere ningún otro equipo de alto voltaje en el mismo cirquito simultáneamente con la plancha. Si necesita usar un cable de extensión, debe usar uno de 15-amperes con un enchufe polarizado. Cables con menos amperes se pueden sobrecalentar y pueden causar daño. ENCHUFE POLARIZADO: Esta plancha de vapor utiliza un enchufe polarizado (una lámina es mas ancha que la otra).

Una luz roja de DEL significa el nivel de agua más suave, y cuatro luces significan el nivel mas duro. 2. COMPRUEBE PRIMERO, PLANCHE DESPUES Antes de planchar telas delicadas, es importante comprobar la plancha en un lugar discreto (por ejemplo, en la parte de atrás) para asegurar que no le haga daño a la tela. Nosotros no asumimos ninguna responsabilidad sobre los daños que puedan ser provocados si no sigue estas instrucciones. COMO UTILIZAR EL SISTEMA DE PLANCHAR 1. Desenroscar la tapa del tanque (10). 2. Utilizando una botella u otro contenedor, llenar el tanque (9) con agua a un máximo de ,7 cuartos de agua (0,65 litros o 2,75 tazas), o quitar el tanque presionando hacia afuera el botón para liberar el tanque (8) y simultáneamente levantando el tanque de agua. Llévelo a la pila y llénelo hasta llegar a la cantidad máxima de agua.
ESTE MODELO PRESENTA LAS SIGUIENTES CARACTERÍSTICAS: Piloto de control rojo (4) El piloto de control rojo se enciende para indicar cuando se ha acabado el agua del tanque. También sonara una alarma que le avisará si es que no ha notado que se ha encendido la luz. Antes de sonar, primero escuchará un zumbido continuo de la bomba. Si esto pasara, tiene que desconectar el sistema de la plancha apagando el interruptor. Llene el tanque con agua y vuélvalo a encender.
LLENANDO EL TANQUE El equipo incluye el sistema SVC™ (Sistema de Vapor Continuo), lo cual significa que usted puede rellenar el agua en cualquier momento mientras que esté planchando. MANTENIMIENTO DEL TANQUE Para mantener el equipo en buen estado y asegurar un funcionamiento constante se aconseja limpiar el tanque de la caldera 1 o 2 veces al año.
RECAMBIOS Y OPCIONES #J45T – Base de plancha de Teflón® #JTPOWDER – Polvo descalcificador QUE HACER CUANDO EXISTE UN PROBLEMA No utilice la plancha si el cordón o el enchufe están dañados o si la plancha se ha caído o tiene algún daño. Para evitar un riesgo de electroshock, no trate de abrir o de reparar el equipo.
