How the Remeha Fusion HP works
A gas-fired heat pump is not fitted with a compressor, like an electric heat
pump, but instead works based on a second loop process. This second
loop process uses ammonia dissolved in water, with ammonia acting
as the refrigerant and water as the absorbent. The mixture is heated by
the gas burner in the generator (1). The refrigerant evaporates and is
separated from the water. The water is transferred to the absorber (3) via
the throttle valve (2). The ammonia vapour is directed to the condenser
(4), where it condenses and transfers the condensing heat to the central
heating water. The liquid goes to the evaporator (6) via the throttle valve (5),
where it evaporates while absorbing heat from the outside air. Thevapour
then goes to the absorber and comes into contact with the water, which
has low levels of ammonia. This is where the refrigerant is absorbed into
the solution, to which the process owes its name. The vapour is absorbed
by the water, resulting in a solution that is rich in ammonia. Theheat
released during this process is transferred to the central heating water
with the residual heat from the generator, which increases the efficiency
of the heat pump. The rich solution is taken by the liquid pump (7) to
the generator (1) and the process starts again from the beginning.

The Remeha Fusion
Compared to electric heat
pumps, the Remeha Fusion
is particularly suitable
for installation in the
following situations due
to their high efficiency at
higher temperatures:
n
In all systems that
operate for long
periods of time
n
For heating systems
with a traditional
heating curve
n
At locations where a gas
supply is present, but
expanding/upgrading the
electrical installation
would be problematic

The Remeha Fusion HP
LT (low temperature)
version is best suited to
low temperature systems
The Remeha Fusion (air
source) must be installed
outside, saving valuable
interior space.

SAVINGS FOR YOUR BUILDING
The main features of a heat pump
A heat pump is a device that pumps heat from A to B. One
application of this technology is, for example, a refrigerator.
Heat is pumped from the refrigerator to the surrounding
area, which reduces the temperature in the refrigerator.
In the same way, heat can be pumped from the outside
air to a building, which heats the building up. A heat
pump is supplied with sustainable heat from the air in its
surroundings, and this heat is transferred to a discharge
system along with heat from the gas burner.
A good choice – for energy and the environment
The modern condensing boiler is no more than 4% away
from the theoretical maximum possible efficiency of 111%.
The increased costs for achieving a marginally higher
efficiency in these units would be disproportionate to the
benefits. Gas-fired heat pumps offer a solution, achieving
anefciency of up to 165%. A Remeha Fusion, used as the
main boiler (in a cascade), operates for long periods of time
– so its high efficiency results in significant gas savings, and
CO emissions are reduced proportionately. The Remeha
Fusion is an excellent choice for renovation projects:
n
The electrical installation does not need upgrading
n
Outside air is used as heat source (instead of an
expensiveground source)
n
The Remeha Fusion continues to operate at temperatures
down to -20°C and is still capable of functioning efficiently
n
The Remeha Fusion is able to efficiently deliver flow
temperatures up to 65°C
