ADJUSTING THE HANDLE Adjust the placement and angle of the handle, as needed: 1. Turn the knob counterclockwise to loosen the handle (Fig. 3). Do not unscrew the knob completely. 2. Hold the unit in the operating position (Fig. 14) and move the handle to a comfortable location (Fig. 4). Slide the handle up or down the upper shaft housing. Make sure the handle is positioned beyond the limiter (Fig. 4). 3. Pivot the handle forward or backward to the desired angle (Fig. 4).
WALL-MOUNTING THE CHARGER (OPTIONAL) The battery charger can be mounted to a permanent surface, such as a wall or work bench. Use mounting fasteners (not included) capable of supporting the combined weight of the battery and battery charger. Wall-mounting holes are located on the bottom of the charger (Fig. 7). INSTALLING AND REMOVING THE BATTERY Battery Port Battery WARNING: Avoid accidentally starting the unit. To prevent serious injury, DO NOT press the trigger lockout and DO NOT squeeze the trigger when installing or removing the battery. Refer to Starting and Stopping. Remove the battery from the unit when it is not in use. Installing the Battery Shaft Grip 1. Grasp the shaft grip firmly (Fig. 11). DO NOT press the trigger lockout and DO NOT squeeze the trigger. Refer to Starting and Stopping. 2.
OPERATION WARNING: Do not expose power tools to rain or wet conditions. 0% CHECKING THE BATTERY CHARGE LEVEL 1. Press the charge meter button (Fig. 13). 2. One or more of the charge meter lights should illuminate (Fig. 13). The number and color of the lights will indicate the current battery charge level: • 3 Green Lights = 66 - 100% Charge • 2 Green Lights = 33 - 66% Charge • 1 Green Light = 1 - 33% Charge • 1 Red Light = 0% Charge 3.
TIPS FOR BEST RESULTS • To direct clippings away from the operator, tilt the cutting head slightly down to the left; cut from right to left whenever possible. • Do not trim wet grass or weeds. NOTE: Some line breakage will occur from: • Entanglement with foreign matter • Normal line fatigue • Attempting to cut thick vegetation • Forcing the line into objects such as walls or fence posts • Remove the battery from the unit when it is not in use.
MAINTENANCE WARNING: To prevent serious injury, never perform maintenance on the unit while it is running. Always remove the battery to prevent the unit from starting accidentally. Always allow the unit to cool before maintaining the unit. Before maintaining the battery charger, always unplug it from the power outlet. Part 3 - Reassembling the Cutting Head 1. 2. 3. 4. Insert the inner reel into the spool cover (Fig. 23). Insert the bump knob into the inner reel (Fig. 23). Install the spring on the outer spool (Fig. 24). Turn the inner reel to align the line ends with the eyelets on the spool cover (Fig. 23). Push the line ends out of the holding slots and into the eyelets (Fig. 23). Hold the line ends in place to keep them from unwinding. 5. Hold the line ends, spool cover, inner reel, and bump knob in place.
CLEANING AND STORAGE CLEANING STORAGE • • • WARNING: To prevent serious injury, never clean the unit while it is running. Always remove the battery to prevent the unit from starting accidentally. Always allow the unit to cool before cleaning the unit. Always unplug the battery charger before cleaning the battery charger. • WARNING: To prevent serious injury, do not use water • to clean the unit, battery or battery charger. Do not douse the unit with water.
TROUBLESHOOTING PROBLEM SOLUTION THE BATTERY WILL NOT CHARGE The battery charger is not plugged in Plug the battery charger into a 120V 60hz AC source The battery is not fully inserted into the battery charger Remove and then reinsert the battery into the battery charger completely The battery and/or charger are too hot or too cold Make sure the battery and charger are in an environment between 32° and 104° F (0° and 40° C). Allow time for the battery and/or charger to warm up or cool down.

RÉGLAGE DE LA POIGNÉE Réglez le placement et l’angle de la poignée, au besoin : 1. Tournez le bouton dans le sens inverse des aiguilles d’une montre pour desserrer la poignée (Fig. 3). Ne dévissez pas complètement le bouton. 2. Tenez l'appareil en position de fonctionnement (Fig. 14) et déplacez la poignée à un endroit confortable (Fig. 4). Faites glisser la poignée sur la partie supérieure du logement de la perche. Assurez-vous que la poignée est placée au-delà du limiteur (Fig. 4). 3.
MONTAGE MURAL DU CHARGEUR (FACULTATIF) Le chargeur de batterie peut être installé sur une surface stable, comme un mur ou un établi. Utilisez des attaches (non incluses) capables de supporter le poids combiné de la batterie et du chargeur. RÉGLAGE DE LA LONGUEUR DU FIL Cet appareil est équipé d’une tête de coupe bouton de butée. Le fil de coupe peut se libérer de la tête de coupe sans que le moteur ne s'arrête. Pour libérer davantage de fil, tapez légèrement le bouton de butée sur le sol (Fig. 15) en faisant fonctionner l’appareil à haut régime. Pour un résultat optimal, tapez le bouton de butée sur un sol nu ou dur. REMARQUE : ne posez pas la tête de coupe sur le sol quand l’appareil est en marche.
BORDURE Rotation de la partie inférieure de l'unité AVERTISSEMENT : Pour éviter de vous blesser gravement et d'endommager l'unité, éteignez l'appareil et enlevez la batterie avant de tourner la partie inférieure. AVERTISSEMENT : Gardez le bouclier de la tête de coupe positionné afin de faire dévier les débris à l'écart de l'opérateur. Les petits objets peuvent être propulsés à des vitesses élevées, provoquant des blessures. Fig.

AJUSTE DE LA MANIJA Ajuste la colocación y el ángulo de la manija, de ser necesario: 1. Gire la perilla en sentido contrario a las agujas del reloj para aflojar la manija (Fig. 3). No desatornille por completo la perilla. 2. Mantenga la unidad en posición operativa (Fig. 14) y mueva la manija hasta una ubicación confortable (Fig. 4). Deslice la manija hacia arriba o abajo del alojamiento del eje. Verifique que la manija esté posicionada más allá del limitador. (Fig. 4). 3.
MONTAJE DEL CARGADOR EN LA PARED (OPCIONAL) El cargador de baterías se puede instalar en una superficie permanente, por ejemplo, una pared o banco de trabajo. Use sujetadores de montaje (no incluidos) con capacidad para sostener el peso combinado de la batería y del cargador de baterías. La cantidad y el color de las luces indicarán el nivel actual de carga de la batería: • 3 Luces verdes = 66 - 100% de carga • 2 Luces verdes = 33 - 66% de carga • 1 Luz verde = 1 - 33% de carga • 1 Luz roja = 0% de carga 3.
AJUSTE DE LA LONGITUD DEL HILO DE RECORTE Esta unidad cuenta con un cabezal de impacto. Se puede soltar el hilo de recorte del cabezal de corte sin parar el motor. Para soltar más hilo, golpee suavemente la perilla de impacto contra el suelo (Fig. 15) mientras utiliza la unidad a alta velocidad. Para obtener los mejores resultados, golpee la perilla de impacto contra suelo descubierto o duro. NOTA: No apoye el cabezal de corte en el suelo mientras la unidad está en marcha.
BORDEADO Cómo girar el extremo inferior de la unidad ADVERTENCIA: Para evitar lesiones personales serias y daños a la unidad, gire la unidad hacia afuera y quite la batería antes de rotar el extremo inferior. ADVERTENCIA: Mantenga el protector del cabezal de corte posicionado de modo de desviar los desechos alejándolos del operador. Tire de los extremos del hilo hacia afuera de las ranuras de retención y dentro de los ojales (Fig. 23).
