Section 17 A/D Converter
This LSI includes a successive approximation type 10-bit A/D converter that allows up to sixteen
analog input channels to be selected. The block diagram of A/D converter is shown in figure 17.1.
17.1 Features
• 10-bit resolution
• Sixteen input channels
• Conversion time: 7.4 µs per channel (at 35-MHz operation)
• Two kinds of operating modes
⎯ Single mode: Single-channel A/D conversion
⎯ Scan mode: Continuous A/D conversion on 1 to 4 channels, or 1 to 8 channels
• Eight data registers
⎯ Conversion results are held in a 16-bit data register for each channel
• Sample and hold function
• Three kinds of conversion start
⎯ Conversion can be started by software, 16-bit timer pulse unit (TPU), conversion start
trigger by 8-bit timer (TMR), or external trigger signal.
• Interrupt request
⎯ A/D conversion end interrupt (ADI) request can be generated
• Module stop mode can be set
