Type Symbol I/O Name and Function
Power VCL Output On-chip power supply stabilizer pin: The VCL pin need
not be connected to the power supply. Connect this pin
to VSS via a 0.1 μF capacitor (placed close to the
pins).
PVCC Input Port power supply pin. Connect all pins to the same
power supply.
VSS Input Ground: For connection to ground
(0 V). All VSS pins should be connected to the system
power supply (0 V).
Clock PLLVSS Input PLL ground: Ground for on-chip PLL oscillator.
PLLCAP Input PLL capacitance: External capacitance pin for on-chip
PLL oscillator.
XTAL Input Connects to a crystal oscillator.

H8S/2695), for typical connection diagrams for a
crystal oscillator and external clock input.
EXTAL Input Connects to a crystal oscillator.
The EXTAL pin can also input an external clock.

φ Output System clock: Supplies the system clock to an external
device.
Operating mode
control
MD2 to MD0 Input Mode pins: These pins set the operating mode.
The relation between the settings of pins MD2 to MD0
and the operating mode is shown below. These pins
should not be changed while the H8S/2633 Group is
operating.
