Battery instructions
Batteries should be kept out of the reach of children.
Do not leave batteries lying around in the open; there is a risk they may be swal-
lowed by children or pets. If they are swallowed, consult a doctor immediately.
Leaking or damaged batteries can cause burns if they come into contact with the
skin. You should therefore wear suitable protective gloves.
Batteries must not be short-circuited, opened or thrown into a fire. There is a risk of
explosion!
Do not recharge single-use, non-rechargeable batteries. Risk of explosion!
Please pay attention to the correct polarity (plus/+ and minus/-) when inserting the
battery.
Remove the batteries if the device is not used for a while to avoid leaking or the bat-
teries becoming flat.

Getting started
To avoid distortion or mismatching, which could damage the microphone
or the connected audio device, the microphone may only be connected to
suitable microphone inputs. Please refer to the connection data contained
in the “Technical data” section.
The microphone can be attached directly to the camera hot shoe.
Before you can use the device, you have to insert a battery (AA).
See the chapter “Changing the battery”.
Mounting on a camera: The microphone shoe mount has a clamping screw. Loosen
the clamping screw. Slide the shoe mount into the hot shoe of the camera. Tighten
the clamping screw to fasten the microphone to the camera.
Switch off your camera.
Connect the 3.5 mm stereo plug of the microphone to the microphone input of your
camera.
Switch on the microphone with the ON/OFF switch
Position ON = microphone is on

= microphone is on; low-cut filter is on (proximity effect, rumbling or
impact noises are counteracted).
Switch on your camera.
You can change the sensitivity of the microphone or its characteristics with the
0/+10 and the NORM/TELE switch.
NORM = cardioid
TELE = supercardioid
The microphone windscreen can be removed if necessary.
MIC IN jack: For connection of an additional microphone for stereo recordings. The
signal from the MIC IN jack is fed into the right channel.
Headphone jack
: For connection of stereo headphones.
The spare rubber bands for the suspension grip are included. Replace them when a
rubber band is torn.

Intended use
The microphone is used for the conversion of acoustical signals (sound waves) into
electrical signals and is specially designed for cameras.
The low-level audio output may be connected only to suitable microphone inputs of
cameras.
The device is approved for battery operation only. Do not use any other power supply.
The correct battery type is specified in the “Technical data” section.
Read the operating instructions carefully and keep them for later reference.
No part of the product may be modified or converted.
The safety instructions must be observed at all times.

The power is supplied by a 1.5 V mignon battery, type AA.
When connecting the microphone, pay attention to the safety instructions
of the device to which it is to be connected.
Do not expose the device to high temperatures, dripping or sprayed water,
strong vibrations or heavy mechanical stress.
Use the product only in a temperate climate and not in a tropical climate.
The product is not a toy and it should be kept out of the reach of children.
Handle the product with care; it can be damaged by impacts, blows, or
accidental falls, even from a low height.
Do not leave packaging material carelessly lying around, since it could
become a dangerous plaything for children.
Also observe any further safety instructions in the individual chapters of
these operating instructions.
In commercial institutions, the accident prevention regulations of the Em-
ployer’s Liability Insurance Association for Electrical Systems and Operat-
ing Facilities are to be observed.
