User manual

The detection range of the motion detector can
be seen in the figure on the right.
The horizontal detection angle is 360°, the range
is up to 8 m.
This results in a very large detection range at the
recommended installation height of 2.5 to 3.5 m
reaching to the ceiling due to the vertical detec-
tion angle of 180°.

Preparations for installation
Only install the motion detector on a stable surface. Only use the motion detector
when it is securely installed.
Due to the special construction with two retaining clips, the motion detector can only
be mounted in a suspended ceiling or a lightweight wall (e.g. gypsum panels. etc.).
For the installation, you will need a round section with a diameter of approx. 63 mm.
Important!
If there are metal objects behind/below the mounting location (e.g. steel
beams, plates or similar), the motion detector will not function properly
The flow in water or sewage pipes may also trigger a switching process.
If you plan to mount several motion detectors, they must have a minimum
distance of 2 m from each other.
Walls, furniture or the like will not inhibit the motion detection due to the high fre-
quency technology used. Depending on the material thickness and humidity level,
the degree of permeation can vary or the high frequency signal may be attenuated.
Material Permeation Attenuation
Synthetic/plastics yes 5 - 10%
Wood yes 10 - 20%
Glass yes 15 - 30%
Brickwork yes, with wall thickness of < 30 cm 60 - 70%
no, with wall thickness of > 30 cm 100%
Reinforced concrete no 100%
Metal no 100%
These values are only for orientation. Depending on the materials and environ-
mental conditions, large deviations can occur.
Ideally, the motion detector is mounted on a ceiling at a height of 2.5 to 3.5 m. De-
pending on the room conditions and the desired function, wall installation is also
possible (for example, in wall panels or a light-weight wall).
Always make sure that the product is mounted outside the reach of children.
If the motion detector is to be mounted in a room ceiling, you should maintain a
distance of at least 1 m to walls. A larger distance is recommended for thin walls;
otherwise, persons on the other side of the wall may also trigger a switching proc-
ess.
The range can be limited using the rotary switch “SENS” if the product
switches incorrectly.
Installation and connection
Please refer to the “Safety instructions” and “Preparations for installation”
chapter!
The motion detector must be installed only when it is voltage-free. It is not
sufficient to simply turn off the light switch!
First, switch off all poles of the mains supply by removing the fuse or switch-
ing off at the circuit breaker and then also switch off the associated residual
current circuit breaker. Secure it against unauthorised reconnection, e.g.,
with a danger sign.
Check that the mains cable is free of current, e.g. with an appropriate tester.
Remove the transparent cover (6) by first removing the fastening screw. Then, care-
fully press the cover together on the left and right side so that the clips are loosened
in the housing of the motion detector; pull them out upwards.
You can also carefully lever the cover with a flat screwdriver if the two clips do not
come loose. However, do not use force.
Unscrew both screws of the strain relief (2) and remove them.
Remove the insulation on the mains cable and
N
L
the connection cable connected to the load.
The individual wires of the cables must be
stripped over a length of 6 - 8 mm.
Connect the mains cable and the cable to
the load using the screw terminals (7), cable
cross-section 1.5 - 2.5 mm².
The terminal assignment is indicated for the
spring clips.
L = Phase (black wire)
N = Neutral wire (blue wire)
The screw terminal on the left in the figure is
the output (switched phase) for the consumer.
Please note the accompanying switch exam-
ple.
Fix the strain relief (2) via the cable.
The protective earth wire (PE, yellow-green cable) must be connected to a different
place (e.g. an external terminal box) since there is no suitable spring clip inside the
motion detector.
Place the transparent cover (6) back in place, note the correct polarity. Both cover
clips need to lock in the housing of the motion detector. Secure the cover with the
screw you removed previously.
The operation of the motion detector is only allowed with a correctly placed
transparent cover!
Adjust the rotary controls “TIME”, “SENS” and “LUX”; observe the following chap-
ter to do this.
Bend the two mounting brackets (8) together
A
B
(step A) and thread insert the motion detector
into the cut-out in the ceiling (step B).
Push the motion detector into the prepared
ceiling cut-out until the two mounting brack-
ets fold down again and set the motion detec-
tor.
Switch on the power.
