Adjusting the motion detector
The motion detector has three rotary
controls, which can be used to change
the switch-on time (“TIME”), the sensitiv-
ity (“SENS”) and the switch-on threshold
for a certain environmental brightness
(“LUX”).
Rotary control “TIME” (switch-on time)
Using this rotary control, you can set the switch-on time for the output to the load.
Turning it to the left in a counter-clockwise direction will reduce the switch-on time of
the connected device, while turning to the right will extend the time.
A setting of 10 seconds (tolerance ±3 seconds) up to 12 minutes (tolerance ±1 minutes)
is possible.
If new motion is detected during the switch-on time, the switch-on time
starts once again; the consumer stays switched on.
Knob “SENS” (sensitivity)
The rotary control can be used to set the intensity of the movement for the switching
process to be triggered.
Turning to the left counter-clockwise (towards “-”) reduces the sensitivity, while turn-
ing to the right clockwise (towards “+”) extends it.
By setting the sensitivity, you can also control the range of the sensor (e.g. a
person who walks through the monitoring area is recognised only at a closer
proximity to the sensor if the sensitivity is reduced).
If the motion detector often triggers erroneously, increase the sensitivity
(turn rotary switch a little to the left towards “-”).
Knob “LUX” (brightness setting)
This knob allows the switching threshold to be set, i.e. the ambient brightness at which
the motion switch is activated.
Turning the rotary control counter-clockwise to the left means the motion detector ac-
tivates when it is darker; turning it to the right, in direction of the sun symbol, activates
the motion detector in brighter conditions.
Functional test
A short switch-on time must be set for a functional test (turn rotary switch “TIME” to
“10S”); the rotary switch for the brightness (“LUX”) must also be turned all the way to
the right (pointing to the sun symbol).
The desired sensitivity is set with the rotary switch “SENS”. Turn the rotary switch
approximately into the middle position for a first test.
Now cross the detection area. The motion detector activates the connected load if it
detects a movement in the detection area.
Adjust the rotary controls accordingly after the functional test; see above.
Troubleshooting
The connected load is not switched on
Check the setting for the rotary control “LUX” for brightness control. If it is turned
too far to the left in counter-clockwise direction, the motion detector is only acti-
vated in the dark.
Check whether there is a power supply, and whether the device (i.e. a bulb) func-
tions.
Increase the sensitivity (turn rotary switch “SENS” towards “+”).
Rapid movements within the detection area are filtered out by the electronic system,
in order to prevent switching errors.
The connected user is switched on permanently
Constant movements occur inside the detection area; this may also be a movement
in the adjacent room due to the HF technology used. Decrease the sensitivity (turn
rotary switch “SENS” towards “-”).
Please note: If the movement detector is activated by a movement and a movement
is detected again during the switch-on time, the switch-on time starts from the be-
ginning!
Set a very short switch-on time for testing, in order to narrow down the causes.
Maintenance and cleaning
The product is maintenance-free. Repair or maintenance work must be carried out
by a specialist.
You can use a clean, dry, soft cloth for cleaning. Dust can be very easily removed with
a soft, clean brush and a vacuum cleaner.
Do not use aggressive chemical or scouring cleaning agents, as this may lead to dis-
colouration or changes in the material on the surface.
Disposal
The product must not be disposed of with the household waste.
Dispose of the product at the end of its serviceable life in accordance with
the current statutory requirements; e.g., return it to any suitable collection
point.

that this product conforms to the fundamental requirements and other relevant regula-
tions of the 1999/5/EC directive.
