a) Installation into a computer housing
• Openyourcomputer'scaseandremovethelidcarefully.
• Locateafree8.9cm(3.5")drivebayandremoveitsfrontpanel.Theremaybeametalcoverinplace
behindthepanelthatneedstoberemoved.Insomecases,thesecoverscanbeunscrewed;inothers
theyshouldbecarefullypriedout.Dependingonthecase,theentirefrontcovermayneedtoberemoved
inadvancetocompletethisstep.
• Pushtheproductintotheslotofthecomputercasing,observingtherightdirection.Theredlockbuttons
mustbelocatedontheleftside.
• Attachtheproducttothehousingusing4screws.
Thereare12screwsincludedinthedeliveryscope:
4screwsforattachingtheproductinsidethecomputerhousing
8screwsforattachingtheharddrivestotheplug-inunits
• Connecttheproducttothe mainboardusingtheprovidedSATAcables. Makesure thepolarityofthe
connection is correct and do not exert any force. Follow the instructions provided in the mainboard
manufacturer'smanual.
Theright-hand5-pinSATAconnectorisconnectedtothetopplug-inunit.
Theleft-hand5-pinSATAconnectorisconnectedtothebottomplug-inunit.
• ConnecttheproducttothePCpowersupplyusinga15-pinSATAcable(notincluded).
• Ifnecessary,securethecableswithcabletiesinorderforthemnottoreachintothefansofyourcomputer.
• Recloseyourcomputer'scase.
• Connectyourcomputerandmonitortothepowersupplyandturnonalldevices.
• If your computer doesnot start up normally,turn itoffimmediately and check all settingsand cable
connections.
Beforereopeningyourcomputer,disconnectitfromthepowersupply;seeabove!
b) Installing HDD/SSD
• Unlocktheplug-inunitusingthekey.Thesmalldotontheredlockbuttonmustbealignedwiththeopen-
locksymbol.
• Slidethelockbuttontotheleft.Thatwillcausethecovertoipopen.
• Pulltheplug-inunitfromthehousing.
• AttachtheHDD/SSDtotheplug-inunitusing4screws.
• Slidetheplug-inunitbackintothehousingtilltheveryend.Proceedcarefullyanddonotapplyanyforce.
• Closethecover.
• Ifnecessary,locktheplug-inunitusingthekey.Thesmalldotontheredlockbuttonmustbealignedwith
theclosed-locksymbol.
Tips and notes
• Therequireddriversarealreadyincludedintheoperatingsystem.Forthatreasonthedeliverydoesnot
includeanyseparatestoragemedium.
• Theproductsupportsbothplug&playandhotswapping.
• TheinsertedHDD/SSDcanberemovedwhilsttheoperatingsystemisrunning.Butyoushouldwaituntil
allreading/writingoperationsarecompletedandsecurelydisconnecttheHDD/SSDthroughtheoperating
system.ThedataontheHDD/SSDcouldgetdamagedotherwise.Itmightevenbenecessarytoformat
theHDD/SSDafterwards.

Installation and operation
If you do not have thorough knowledge on the installation of this product, have the
installation carried out by a professional or in a specialist shop!

Turn off the computer in which you wish to install the product, and all connected devices.
Disconnect all devices from the power supply by unplugging them. Simply turning off the
devices using the on/off switch does not mean a device is voltage-free!
