9. Discontinuing use
Ifthepumpmustbedisconnectedfromthehose(forexample,forcleaning,maintenanceorwinterstorage),proceed
as follows:
• Disconnect the pump from the mains voltage by pulling the mains plug out of the mains socket.
• Releasetheexcesspressureinthehosesystemorpumpandopentheshut-offvalves(ifany).
• Unscrewthetwodraincapsandlettheremainingwaterrunoutofthepump.Openingtheltercovercanspeed
up the process.
Do not forget to completely empty the hoses laid outdoors to avoid frost damage. Also open the shut-off
valves, if any.
 Werecommendtostorethepumpinadry,frost-freeplaceduringwinter.Ifthepumpispermanentlyxed
in place, it can remain outdoors if it is correctly emptied. In this case, a cumbersome disassembly (and
removal/connection of hoses) once a year is not necessary.
• Cleanthelterasdescribedinthenextchapter.
• Replacethedraincapsandscrewthemtight.Closetheltercoverifyouhavenotdonethisalready.
• If the pump requires transport, make sure there is still some water left in the pump after it has been emptied. When
storing the pump or transporting it in a vehicle, make sure you use a suitable underlay to protect the pump from
water stains or other damage.
