expansionhubsothere'snoneedtoplugandunplug
otherperipheralslikePDAs,scannersorprinterswhen
youneedtoupdatetheprogramming.Infact,many
newcomputers,inparticularlaptops,don'tinclude
serialportsanylonger,whichwillmakeusingserial‐
basedinterfacesexpensiveanddifficulttouse.
ThePowerLincControllerincludesSmarthome's
innovativepass‐throughACoutletonthefrontoftheunit.Thisoutletthatallowsyoutoplugin
additionalACdevices.Whiletheoutletdoesn'thaveanycontrolfeatures,itreallyhelpsagainst"power
stripbuildup."
