User’s Manual Audio Out Connect Audio Out to your amplifier using the RCA jack. If supported, connect the audio sources to the audio input connector of the observation cameras that are connected to the modular RJ-12 connectors of the DVR. Refer to the observation camera manual for configuring the Audio In connection. Your DVR can record audio from up to 12 sources. NOTE: It is the user’s responsibility to determine if local laws and regulations permit recording audio.
Digital Video Recorder NOTE: Connect the monitor before the DVR boots so that video can be displayed on the monitor with the resolution you have set during system setup. If you want to use both the HDMI and VGA Monitor connectors, one of the monitors should be connected before the DVR boots, and the other monitor should be connected after the DVR boots. Network Port The DVR can be networked using the 10Mb/100Mb/1Gb Ethernet connector. Connect a Cat5 cable with an RJ-45 jack to the DVR connector.

Digital Video Recorder Arrow Buttons These buttons are used to navigate through menus and GUI. You can also use them to change numbers by highlighting a number in the menu and using the Up and Down arrow buttons to increase or decrease the number’s value. These buttons are also used to control Pan and Tilt when in the PTZ mode. When in the PIP display format, pressing the Up and Down arrow buttons moves the position of the small screen counter-clockwise and clockwise.
User’s Manual Alarm Button Pressing the ALARM button resets the DVR’s outputs including the internal buzzer during an alarm. PTZ Control Buttons While in the PTZ mode, the PRESET buttons are used to save Presets and load a Preset View, the ZOOM buttons are used to Zoom In and Zoom Out, and the FOCUS buttons are used for Near Focus and Far Focus. Back Up Button Pressing the BACK UP button allows you to copy video clips.

Highlighting the box under the Sensitivity heading and pressing the button allows you to adjust the DVR’s sensitivity to motion for Daytime and Nighttime independently. There are five settings with 1 being the least sensitive and 5 being the most sensitive.
User’s Manual You can adjust the minimum number of detection blocks that must be activated to trigger a motion alarm. Highlighting the box under the Min. Blocks heading and pressing the button allows you to adjust the minimum number of detection blocks for Daytime and Nighttime independently. Smaller numbers provide greater sensitivity because fewer detection blocks must be activated. Turning Zone View On will allow you to observe how the DVR is reacting to motion.

Alarm input can be associated with cameras, trigger an Alarm-Out connector, sound the DVR’s internal buzzer, notify a number of different devices, and/or move PTZ cameras to preset positions. NOTE: Selecting Auto will only be enabled when the DVR is configured for DHCP or an ADSL network. Selecting ADSL (with PPPoE) allows you to set up the ADSL network.

User’s Manual NOTE: Selecting Use Mobile sets the REVO Remote service to be enabled automatically regardless of your REVO Remote settings. When using NAT (Network Address Translation) or firewall services, opening all UDP ports allows you to access a DVR using Blackberry and Android devices. You can access a remote DVR and monitor live video images using media players, such as VLC Player, supporting RTSP service.

Digital Video Recorder Chapter 4 — Operation NOTE: This chapter assumes your DVR has been installed and configured. If it has not, please refer to Chapters 2 and 3. Turning on the Power Once you have installed the DVR following the instructions in Chapter 2 — Installation, it is ready to record. Live Monitoring As soon as the DVR completes its initialization process, it will begin showing live video on the attached monitor and playing live audio through the attached speaker.
User’s Manual Display (Full Screen) and choosing the camera number button displays the Full Screen: Selecting (Display) → selected camera full screen. It is the same as pressing the individual camera buttons on the remote control or clicking the left mouse button on a camera image when in one of the multiview formats (i.e., 2x2, 1+5, 1+7, 3x3 or 4x4). Clicking the left mouse button on the screen again returns to the previous display mode.
Digital Video Recorder Selecting again in the Live Monitoring menu exits the Sequence mode. While in the Sequence mode, the icon displays in bottom-left corner if Sequence is selected in the Display setup screen (OSD tab). If all the cameras in a page are Off, or have lost video or are set to Covert (unless the user has authority to view covert cameras), that page will be excluded from the sequence.
User’s Manual Zoom Mode You can enlarge an area of the video by pressing the ZOOM button. For a few seconds after pressing the ZOOM button, a rectangle displays on the screen. A rectangle shows the area that will be enlarged. You can move the rectangle around using the arrow buttons. Pressing the button in the Zoom mode enlarges the area in rectangle. Exit the Zoom mode by pressing the ZOOM button. While in the Zoom mode, the icon displays if Zoom is selected in the Display setup screen (OSD tab).

Selecting A–B Backup again will set the ending point of the video to be clip copied and displays the Backup screen. See the following Backup section for details. Backup: Select (Export) → Backup, and the Backup screen appears to allow backup setup. See the following Backup section for details.
