Application
The fan control used on Reznor heaters with a Thermocore
®
1 heat exchanger has
been discontinued by the manufacturer. This kit is designed to replace the fan con-
trol and applies to all Reznor products using a Thermodisc 29T 12-32517 fan control
(Reznor P/N 10357).
1. Turn off the gas and the electric.
2. Remove the control access panel.
3. Remove the Obsolete Fan Control
Open the electrical box cover (if provided) and locate the fan control.

Disconnect the four wires on the fan control. Save the blue and red wires that go
to Terminals 1 and 3. Discard the brown and black wires that go to Terminals A
and B.
If equipped with a junction box heat shield (See FIGURE 1, bottom left), discon-
nect the limit control wires. Remove the heat shield from the junction box. Discard
the heat shield. Reconnect the limit control wires.
Remove the two screws that hold the fan control. Save the screws and discard the
fan control.

there may or may not be a heat shield
in the junction box. If the unit has a heat
shield, remove and discard it. Be sure
to reconnect the limit control wires.

4. Install the Replacement Fan Control
(FIGURE 2)
In the same location as the removed fan
control, slide the round fan control shield
through the hole in the panel and insert
the sensor side of the fan control into
the shield. Using the two screws saved
in Step 3, attach the new fan control and
shield. See FIGURE 2.
Attach the blue and red wires to the new
fan control.
