Thermal fuse protection Description of the vacuum Your Riccar vacuum cleaner comes equipped with a Manual Reset Thermal Fuse Protector. This thermal protector is designed to protect your vacuum cleaner from overheating due to a restriction in airflow (i.e. clogged hose, operating the vacuum without a bag). Should this situation occur, the thermal fuse protector will safely shut off the vacuum cleaner to avoid any potential damage.
Operation Operation 1 2 Handle adjustments Attaching the handle The cleaner and the handle are packed separately. • After first removing the handle screw, insert handle into the hole on top of the vacuum cleaner. Make sure that the switch on the handle is positioned to the front of the vacuum cleaner (diagram 1). • Line up the small hole on the handle with the small hole on the vacuum cleaner and insert the screw. Make sure the screw is tightened securely.
Operation Operation CAUTION: First, disconnect the vacuum cleaner from the electrical outlet. Replacing secondary filter The secondary filter protects the motor from dust and dirt. Before installing a new filter bag, check the filter. Accumulated dirt in the dust compartment will be collected on this filter and may restrict motor performance, when the filter becomes dirty (diagram 12). 12 Replacing headlight bulb Remove the headlight bracket screw (diagram 15).

Operation Tools CAUTION: First, disconnect the vacuum cleaner from the electrical outlet. 28 Select models are equipped with on-board cleaning tools including 4-to-1 stretch hose, 3 piece telescopic wand, crevice tool, dusting tool, upholstery tool. Unclogging nozzle and hose The nozzle hose, located on the back of the vacuum cleaner, carries the dirt from the nozzle to the filter bag. The hose also functions as the attachment cleaning hose.
Tools Warranty What is Covered: Optional cleaning tools All Riccar upright vacuum cleaners offer an attachment port that enables you to insert optional cleaning tools (available through your Riccar Retailer). Should you have carpeted stairs, for example, it is highly recommended to use one of the two kits pictured, since each offers either a 12 - or 15 - foot hose for safe stair cleaning. These kits are effective cleaning tools to address some of the hard to reach areas of your home or car.
