TROUBLESHOOTING CHART
Symptom Possible Cause(s) Corrective Action
Unit runs but
delivers
little or no
water
1) Leak in suction hose or piping
2) Clogged suction strainer
3) Water level below pump intake
4) Pump not primed
5) Water level more than
maximum lift of 25 ft.
1) Tighten suction hoses and use thread sealer.
2) Clear debris from suction strainer.
3) Lower suction hose into water.
4) Fill pump with water before trying to prime.
5) Move pump closer to water level and increase discharge
line length if necessary.
Unit will not
start
1) Engine switch OFF
2) No fuel
3) Fuel valve in "off" position
4) Oil level too low
5) Choke adjusted incorrectly
6) Other engine problem
1) Turn engine switch ON.
2) Fill engine fuel tank. Refer to engine operating instructions
3) Turn fuel valve to "on" position.
4) Fill with correct oil per operating instructions.
5) Move choke lever to "CLOSED" unless engine is warm.
Refer to engine operating instructions.

Unit starts
but runs and
performs poorly

Service and repair
work on this pump must be performed
by qualifi ed repair personnel. Pump
should be taken to a RIDGID Independent
Authorized Service Center or returned to
the factory. All repairs made by Ridgid
service facilities are warranted against
defects in material and workmanship.
