3.14 Post-Water Heater Installaon Checklist
Complete the following checklist when water heater installaon is complete. You should be able to answer YES to each
queson. If you answer NO to any queson, installaon is not complete. Refer to the applicable secon in the Rinnai
Tankless Water Heater Installaon and Operaon Manual for addional informaon.

INSTALLATION LOCATION YES NO
Have you veried the unit, vent and air intakes meet the clearance requirements?
COMBUSTION AIR & VENTING YES NO
Have all corrosive compounds been removed from around the combuson air inlet of the tankless water
heater?
Have you followed the combuson air requirements to provide sucient combuson air for the tankless
water heater?
Are the correct venng products for the installed model being ulized?
Have you installed the vent screen(s) for PVC vent applicaons?
Have you veried the vent system does not exceed maximum length?
PLUMBING YES NO
Have the water lines been purged of all debris and the lter cleaned?
Have you veried the hot and cold water lines to the tankless water heater are not interchanged?
Does the water supply to the heater have adequate pressure? Is it free of chemicals? Did you verify it does
not exceed total hardness that will damage the heat exchanger?
Have you veried that no toxic chemicals were introduced to the potable water?
Did you drain the tankless water heater if not intended to be used immediately?
Have water quality issues (if any) been addressed?
Have you performed the leak and pressure test for the tankless water heater and plumbing system?

Are the isolaon valves (included with the tankless water heater) installed?

3.13 Service Indicator (Service Soon, 55)
This water heater includes a service indicator (Service Soon, SS). When
selected in the parameter sengs, an SS code will display on the controller
indicang that it is me to ush and service the water heater.
• Selecon is installers preference based on water condions or other
factors that may inuence the suggested interval of service.
• See the parameter sengs secon of this manual for selectable service
intervals.
• If Service Soon (55) appears on the controller displayed contact you local
service provider to ush and service the water heater. (see 5.3 Flushing
the Heat Exchanger)
• Service Soon will appear again when the me reach to the interval by
seng from reset.

NOTE: Service Soon (55) will display on the
controller again when the water heater
reaches the interval selected in the
parameter sengs.
