with your Rinnai independent dealer. The guidelines apply to average house construction.

engineered project.

• Rinnai has not been to the location so this guidance is for your assistance only and should

not be the sole factor in making a sizing selection.

• Sizing does not describe a complete system.

• The contractor/engineer must determine the necessary components for and conﬁguration

of the particular system being installed.

• Sizing does not imply compliance with local building codes.

• It is the responsibility of the engineer/contractor to ensure the installation is in accordance with

all local building codes.

• Confer with local building ofﬁcials before installation.

• RAC, its agents, employees, directors, ofﬁcers, parent or afﬁliate companies assume no liability

Information based on Sizing Guidelines for Vent-Free Gas Products found on

http://www.ventfree.org.

*Square footage column based off of an 8ft ceiling height.

** Selection is based on installation locations at 2,000 ft or below. If the installation

is above 2,000 ft please contact Rinnai.

• In bathrooms, select a product equal to or less than 6,000 BTUH.

• In bedrooms, select a product equal to or less than 10,000 BTUH.

• In single rooms in Region V, multiply the room’s volume by 3.20.

The result is the maximum heat input (BTUH) of the product you should consider.

NOTE: Rinnai Vent-Free Fan Convectors are intended for supplemental heating only, according

to the International Fuel Gas Code (IFGC), and should be used in applications as such. Some

states prohibit the use of unvented heaters. Check local codes for your area to verify approval

of use.
