64 Rinnai I-Series Condensing Boiler Solo Manual
The boiler has the ability to operate
simultaneously between central heang
and domesc indirect tank heang. The
boiler can control dividing the ow
between domesc hot water producon
to the indirect tank and the central
heang circuit.
The boiler is set to domesc indirect tank
recovery as the priority. If it is desired to
have simultaneous operaon of central
heang and domesc hot water, access
the parameters (as shown in the
“Parameter Sengs” secon of this
manual) and adjust parameter 33 to “b.”
When DIP Switch 3 is in the OFF (default)
posion, the opon to select the duraon
of the indirect tank priority will become
available in Parameter 34. Aer this
period of me passes, the indirect tank
will cease to be heated and central
heang will have priority. If there is sll
an indirect tank demand aer 60 minutes
passes of CH priority, indirect tank priority
will begin again.
When DIP Switch 3 is in the OFF (default)
posion, Parameter 32 is selected to be
“Use Pump,” and when Parameter 33 is
selected to be "Simultaneous Heang
with Indirect Tank and CH" Parameter 35
becomes available. This enables CH
seng limitaon during simultaneous
heang. This can prevent unintenonally
supplying high temperature supply water
to low water heang temperature
applicaons such as oor heang. During
simultaneous operaon, the heang
supply temperature is based on the
indirect tank supply temperature. When
"NO" is selected, make sure that the CH
system and heang applicaon is
designed to allow for the high supply
temperature.
IMPORTANT:
The central heang supply temperature may
be up to 180°F (82°C) or higher during
simultaneous operaon. If the central
heang temperature is lower than 140°F
(60°C), the default seng is not to permit
the simultaneous operaon. The boiler
would then default to a DHW system with
Indirect Tank priority seng. In this
scenario, it prevents unintenonally
supplying high temperature supply water to
low water heang applicaon.
If the indirect tank seng is above 140°F
(60°C) and it is desired to have simultaneous
operaon with the indirect tank setpoint
higher than the CH setpoint, access the
parameters (as shown in the “Parameter
Sengs” secon of this manual) and adjust
parameter 35 to “b.” In this scenario, there
is the potenal to have higher temperature
water being supplied to the central heang
system. Ensure that the central heang
system is designed for this high supply
water temperature.
• When set for simultaneous
operaon, the me to recover the
indirect tank may be increased. If
high domesc hot water usage is
desired without greater potenal of
temperature loss, it is not
recommended to use the
simultaneous operaon feature.
• When the boiler is unable to perform
simultaneous operaon between CH
and recovering an indirect tank, the
indirect tank heang will take priority
and CH operaon will occur aer the
tank temperature is sased or
indirect tank priority me has
elapsed.
