With its distinctive elliptical wing, the Spitre’s unique silhouette helped it achieve
legendary status during the Battle of Britain. One of the nest ghters of its day, the
streamlined Spitre was fast and manoeuvrable - described as ‘like driving a sports
car compared to the slower Hurricane that it ew alongside. Going into production in
1937, the Air Ministry had ordered over 4000 by 1939 and the last operational Spitre
ight was in 1954.

ready to y in the minimum of time.
Its fully aerobatic performance means it is not suitable for
beginners but perfect for intermediate and experienced
pilots. Simple to hand launch, the Spitre has a very low
wing loading, making it stable and controllable at low
speeds.
