2.6 GMRS OPERATION
The RLR-460 is approved for operation under FCC Rules & Regulations Part 95, Subpart A, General
Mobile Radio Service (GMRS). This service is a land mobile radio service available to persons for short-
distance two-way communications for licensees and their immediate family members. Important points
about operating the RLR-460 in this service:
A. A license from the FCC is required. Licenses are available to individuals only.
B. Frequencies in the GMRS service are shared and not assigned for the exclusive use of any
licensee.
C. The frequencies available for transmission from the RLR-460 are: 462.5500, 462.5750, 462.6000,
462.6250, 462.6500, 462.6750, 462.7000, and 462.7250 MHz. The corresponding frequencies
available for transmission to the RLR-460 (RLR-460 receive frequencies) are: 467.5500,
467.5750, 467.6000, 467.6250, 467.6500, 467.6750, 467.7000, and 467.7250 MHz.
D. The licensee is responsible for the proper operation of the GMRS system at all times. The
licensee is also responsible for the appointment of a station operator and may limit the use of the
repeater to only certain user stations. The licensee or station operator must make any station
and/or system records in the GMRS system available to the FCC if requested.
E. The following communications are permissible:
Two-way communications concerning the licensee’s personal or business activities.
Voice messages concerning emergencies, rendering assistance to a motorist, or civil
defense drills.
Tone messages for identifications or transmitter control in a control link.
Sub-audible signaling in conjunction with voice.
One-way voice paging to a paging receiver.
