INSTRUCTIONS FOR 10-154 LOOP PILE CUTTER
A. INSERTING BLADE.
1. Decide whether you are going to cut from the top, or bottom of the carpet.
2. Remove the knurled thumbscrew.
3. Place a new standard heavy-duty slotted blade into the recessed blade slot for top cutting, or a trimmer blade for
bottom cutting.
4. Replace the thumbscrew through slot in blade and into threaded nut.
5. Tighten the knurled thumbscrew by hand to lock blade in place. DO NOT use pliers or wrenches to tighten thumbscrew.
This will damage tool beyond repair and invalidate the warranty.
B. HOW TO CUT SEAMS WITH YOUR NEW LOOP PILE CUTTER.
1. Use the long nose of the cutter as a guide to cut between the two rows of the pile loops. As you cut between the rows
of the carpet, press the base plate of the cutter firmly against the floor. Be careful not to let the guide bar cross a row of
pile loops.
2. Complete the seam by cutting the second piece of carpet as you did the first piece. Place the two sides of carpet
together to make sure the carpet fits together tightly.
3. If the pile rows are irregular and a seam cannot be cut between the rows, then use this method of cutting the seam:
a. Strike a chalk line on the edge of the carpet
b. Using a straightedge as a guide cut the carpet with your Loop Pile Cutter
4. The 10-154 can be used for trace cutting.
a. Cut the first side of the seam between the rows of pile. Overlap the second piece approximately one inch.
b. Using the piece of carpet as a guide, trace cut the second piece of carpet.
5. Use a Roberts Row Finder to separate the face yarns between the two rows of pile.
6. Follow the opening between the pile rows with the guide bar on the cutter. A firm downward pressure must be applied
when making this cut.

A. INSTALLATION - LAME.
1. Décider si vous allez couper du haut du tapis ou par en dessous.
2. Enlever la vis.
3. Utiliser une lame avec fente si vous coupez du haut et une lame pour tailleur si vous coupez par en dessous. Insérer la
lame dans l’espace réserver à cette fin.
4. Replacer la vis entre la fente dans la lame et dans l’écrou.
5. Serrer la vis à main afin de verrouiller la lame en position. Ne pas utiliser de pince pour serrer. Vous risqueriez d’endom-
magger l’outil qui mettra fin à toute garantie.
B. DIRECTIVES POUR COUPER LE TAPIS À L’AIDE DE VOTRE COUPE TAPIS.
1. Utiliser le bec de la Coupe Tapis comme guide afin de couper entre les rangées de fibre, (Trame), d’un tapis bouclé.
Pendant que vous coupez dans la trame, assurer que la base de l’outil et stable contre le plancher. Soyez vigilant à ne
pas allouer le guide de chevaucher une rangée de fibre ou de boucle.
2. Compléter le joint en coupant le deuxième morceau de tapis en utilisant le même procédure que le premier. Placer les
deux morceaux ensemble et vérifier que votre joint est droit.
3. Si les rangées sont irréguilières et le tapis ne peut être couper dans la trame, utiliser la méthode suivant:
a. Appliquer une ligne de craie sur le rebord du tapis.
b. À l’aide d’une règle pour tapis comme guide couper le tapis avec votre Coupe Tapis.
4. Le 10-154 peut être utilisé lorsque vous tracez et coupez.
a. Couper le premier côté du joint dans la trame. Chevaucher le deuxième morceau d’un pouce.
b. En utilisant le morceau coupé comme guide, tracer et couper le deuxième morceau.
5. Utiliser Roberts Trouve Rangée afin de trouver la trame ou entre les deux rangées de fibres de tapis.
6. À l’aide du guide sur la Coupe Tapis suivez la trame. Une pression adéquate doit être appliquée sur l’outil lorsque vous
coupez de cette façon.
