RS6220C RS6320C 352-00146-001 Rev B USERS MANUAL Thank you for purchasing a Robertshaw RS6000 programmable thermostat. This user’s manual will guide you through the setup of the RS6220C two stage and the RS6320C three stage* thermostats. The thermostat should already be mounted and correctly wired. The default settings will enable the thermostat to operate efficiently. Before making any changes to the schedule read the section on Default Settings.
Application The Robertshaw RS6000C family of thermostats is designed to control gas, electric, oil, heat pump, and millivolt heating and electric cooling systems. The RS6220C is a two stage thermostat and the RS6320C can support three stages of heating and two stages of cooling in heat pump applications. The RS6000C thermostats can have a schedule programmed for each day.
Installing or Changing the Batteries To remove the battery compartment gently squeeze the ribbed edges on both sides. The battery compartment will pull down from the thermostat body and will detach. Install two AA batteries following the polarity as shown inside the compartment. Place compartment back into the thermostat. When the batteries are low the thermostat will enter a low battery mode. Low battery mode has two levels. • LEVEL 1: The low battery icon will be displayed.
Schedule Settings – Defaults This thermostat is preprogrammed with a schedule designed to help lower energy usage year-round. The default schedule settings are: Time Cooling °F Heating °F Morn 6:00 am 78 70 Day 8:00 am 85 62 Eve 6:00 pm 78 70 Nite 10:00 pm 82 62 User Settings – Defaults During any program changes the display returns back to the operating display if a button has not been pushed in 10 seconds. The temperature scale is set to Fahrenheit.
Auto Changeover Auto changeover is the ability of the thermostat to switch automatically between heating settings and cooling settings. This is useful in Spring and Fall when the days are warm and the nights are cool. In heat mode if the room continues to warm beyond a set threshold the thermostat switches to the cool mode and the associated cooling settings. The reverse is also true. As the room temperature changes, the thermostat will call for heating or cooling as needed.
Setting Time and Day To adjust the time and day settings press the SET TIME button. The hour will flash. If a button is not pushed in 10 seconds the thermostat returns to operation. To change the settings: 1. Use the and buttons to change the flashing number. 2. Press the SET TIME button to move through hour, minutes and day of week. 3. Make changes as needed. They will be saved automatically. NOTE: The thermostat will not correct for Daylight Saving Time.
To begin selecting days for the copy program, use and to highlight each day of the week. If the highlighted day should use the same schedule, press SELECT to turn on that day. Once all the days that will use this schedule are selected, press EDIT SCHEDULE. The settings will be copied to the selected days. If there are more days to program, the next unprogrammed day will be blinking. Repeat the steps above until all days have been programmed.
DIFF = The differential keeps the thermostat from turning on for small changes in temperature. When in Fahrenheit the range is 0.5 to 3.0 Degrees. In Celsius the range is 0.5 to 1.5 Degrees. The differential is factory set at 1.0 °F (0.5 °C). This means that whenever the room temperature is more than 1 °F (0.5 °C) different from the set temperature the system will turn on. If the system is turning on too often, increase the differential setting.
Auto changeover enable = Makes the auto changeover mode available. When chosen, the thermostat can automatically switch between heating and cooling. Note that the High and Low setpoint limits are not enforced in auto changeover mode. DEDB = Deadband for auto changeover = the number of degrees that the room temperature can move away from the active setpoint until heating or cooling is called for. The larger the deadband the more the room temperature will vary. This can be from heat to cool or cool to heat.
CYCL = Cycle Timer allows a compressor to rest between cycles. Can be set from 0 to 5 minutes in 1 min increments. WARNING: A wrong short cycle setting can damage your equipment. This should only be changed by a trained HVAC professional. CAL = Calibration offset. Changes the displayed temperature from the actual temperature by +3 to -3 degrees in one degree increments.
Two Stage Systems A 2nd stage is a second or additional system that will provide extra heating or cooling. When a 2nd stage is operating the display will show the number 2 by the heat/cool icons. A temperature differential (default value is 2.0 °F or 1.0 °C) and time delay (default value 20 minutes) control the 2nd stage cycle. Operation of the 2nd stage begins when: • The room temperature changes from the setpoint by the sum of the 1st and 2nd stage differential settings.
Temporary Override When the thermostat is running to a schedule, an override allows the thermostat to function with a single setpoint for a time period. A temporary override is entered as a setpoint for a number of hours. or 1. Press of hours. 2. Use and to display the flashing setpoint and the number to change the setpoint. 3. Press SET TIME to move to the hours. 4. Use and to set the length of the override. After 5 seconds the thermostat will start operation of the override.
Automatic Shut-Down The thermostat will not display the room temperature if the temperature goes higher than 99 °F (37 °C) or lower than 32 °F (0 °C). The display will show HI or LO. The thermostat continues to control heating and cooling and will resume the display of real time information when the room temperature is back inside the display’s range. Setting the Fan To ON, AUTO or CIRC The fan has 3 settings: On, Auto, or Circ. Press the among the three. ON: button to switch The fan is on constantly.
Five Year Limited Warranty Invensys Controls warrants to the original contractor installer, or to the original consumer user, that each new Robertshaw thermostat will be free from defects in materials and workmanship under normal use and service for a period of five (5) years from the date of purchase (the “Warranty Period”).

Ce mode d’emploi vous guidera pendant la configuration des thermostats biphasé RS6220C et triphasé* RS6320C. Le thermostat devrait déjà être monté et correctement câblé. Les réglages par défaut permettront au thermostat de fonctionner efficacement. Avant de changer le programme, lisez le chapitre sur les réglages par défaut.
Application Le thermostat Robertshaw RS6000C est conçu pour contrôler les systèmes de chauffage au gaz, électriques, au pétrole, avec pompes à chaleur, le chauffage au millivolt et les systèmes de climatisation électriques. Le RS6220C est un thermostat biphasé et le RS6320C peut prendre en charge trois phases de chauffage et deux phases de refroidissement dans les applications de pompes à chaleur. Le thermostat RS6000C peut être programmé différemment pour chaque jour.
Installation ou remplacement des piles Pour retirer le compartiment des piles resserrez doucement les bords côtelés. Le compartiment des piles s’abaissera du corps du thermostat et s’en détachera. Placez-y deux piles de type « AA » en respectant la polarité indiquée à l’intérieur du compartiment. Remettez le compartiment dans le thermostat. Lorsque les piles seront presque déchargées, le thermostat se mettra en mode de pile déchargée. Ce mode a deux niveaux.
Programme - valeurs par défaut Ce thermostat est préprogrammé avec un calendrier conçu pour contribuer à la diminution de la consommation d’énergie tout au long de l’année.
Inversion Auto L’inversion Auto est la capacité du thermostat de commuter automatiquement entre les réglages de chauffage et les réglages de climatisation. C’est utile au printemps et en automne quand il fait chaud pendant le jour mais froid la nuit. En mode de chauffage, si la pièce continue à chauffer au delà d’un seuil déterminé, le thermostat passe au mode de climatisation avec les réglages de climatisation associés. Et inversement.
Réglage de l’heure et du jour Appuyez sur la touche « SET TIME » (réglage de l’heure) pour régler l’heure et le jour. L’heure se met à clignoter. Si vous n’appuyez sur aucune touche dans les 10 secondes, le thermostat revient au fonctionnement normal. Pour changer les réglages : 1. Utilisez les touches et pour changer le numéro qui clignote. 2. Appuyez sur la touche « SET TIME » pour passer aux heures, aux minutes et aux jours de la semaine. 3. Faites les changements nécessaires.
REMARQUE : Appuyez sur pour passer des valeurs du chauffage à celles de la climatisation et inversement. Appuyez sur la touche « SET TIME » (réglage de l’heure) pour revenir aux heures de l’événement. REMARQUE : Les valeurs de réglage du chauffage et de la climatisation NE PEUVENT PAS être croisées. C’est-à-dire que la valeur de réglage de la climatisation NE PEUT PAS être inférieure à la valeur de réglage du chauffage.
LITE = Le rétroéclairage de l’écran est toujours allumé « y », ou éteint « n ». On l’appelle aussi veilleuse ou lumière de nuit (« nighlight »). Si le thermostat a été câblé sous 24 V c.a. (bornes R et C), ce dispositif sera affiché et son réglage peut être changé. DIFF = Le différentiel empêche le thermostat de s’allumer pour de petits changements de température. En Fahrenheit, il s’agit d’une plage de 0,5 à 3.0 degrés. En Celsius, il s’agit d’une plage de 0,5 à 1,5 degrés.
DLY3 = Délai de troisième étage de fonctionnement = Cette temporisation commence quand le second étage de l’équipement se met en route. Elle se remet à zéro quand le second étage de l’équipement s’arrête. Si cette temporisation arrive à terme, le troisième étage s’allumera. (Voyez Systèmes à trois étages). Auto changeover enable = Permet d’utiliser le mode d’inversion automatique. Lorsque ce mode est choisi, le thermostat peut faire passer automatiquement du chauffage à la climatisation et inversement.
LO = Limite Basse de climatisation = C’est la valeur minimum de réglage de la climatisation. L’utilisateur ne peut pas programmer une valeur de réglage ou une valeur manuelle plus basse que cette valeur. REMARQUE : La limite basse de climatisation n’est pas en vigueur en mode de transition automatique. CHECK = Minuterie pour rappeler au propriétaire qu’il faut entretenir le filtre. Le réglage par défaut est éteint. La minuterie tourne quand le système est activé.
Création d’un mot de passe – Protection des réglages Les touches sur la face du thermostat peuvent être verrouillées avec un mot de passe. Pour créer un mot de passe : 1. Appuyez simultanément sur les touches et et maintenez-les enfoncées pendant 5 secondes. On vous demandera un mot de passe de 4 chiffres. 2. Chaque chiffre est indiqué avec les touches et . Appuyez sur pour passer au chiffre suivant et enregistrez le mot de passe après avoir saisi le 4ème chiffre.
Systèmes à trois étages d’équipement Un 3ème étage d’équipement est un troisième système ou un système supplémentaire qui fournira du chauffage supplémentaire dans les applications avec thermopompes. Quand un 3ème étage d’équipement fonctionne, l’affichage indiquera le numéro 2 et un E à côté du symbole de chauffage. Une temporisation (la valeur par défaut du délai est de 20 minutes) contrôle le cycle du 3ème étage. Cette temporisation commence quand le second étage de l’équipement se met en route.
4. Utilisez et pour entrer la durée de la neutralisation. Après 5 secondes le thermostat commencera le fonctionnement en mode de neutralisation. L’affichage indiquera la température ambiante, et la valeur de réglage s’affichera en alternance avec le nombre d’heures qui restent pendant la neutralisation du programme normal. La programmation normale reprendra à la fin de la période de neutralisation.
Réglage du ventilateur sur ON, AUTO ou CIRC Le ventilateur a 3 réglages : ON, AUTO ou CIRC. Appuyez sur passer d’un réglage à l’autre. ON: pour Le ventilateur fonctionne constamment. La température ambiante, les valeurs de réglage et le mode de chauffage et de climatisation n’ont aucun effet sur le ventilateur. AUTO: Le ventilateur se met en route quand il y a un appel de chauffage ou de climatisation.
Garantie limitée de dix-huit mois Invensys Controls garantit à l’installateur sous-traitant d’origine, ou à l’utilisateur consommateur d’origine, que chaque thermostat Robertshaw neuf ne comportera aucun défaut de pièces et de main d’œuvre dans des conditions d’utilisation et d’entretien normales pendant une période de dix-huit (18) mois à compter de la date de fabrication (la « Période de garantie »).
Certains Etats n’autorisent pas l’exclusion ou la limitation des dommages induits ou secondaires, ou n’autorisent pas de limitations de la durée d’une garantie implicite, il est donc possible que les limitations ou exclusions ci-dessus ne s’appliquent pas à vous. La présente Garantie vous confère des droits juridiques spécifiques, et il est possible que vous ayez d’autres droits qui varient d’un Etat à un autre.
