The great thing about solid wood and
laminate floors is that they can be installed
over the top of your existing concrete, tile,
plywood or timber floor. They are easier to
install than non-overlay timber or tiles and
come completely finished.
Laminate flooring gives you the solid wood
look, but for a fraction of the price and it’s
harder wearing. However, it can’t be sanded
and resealed, so you need to take good care
of it.
On the other hand, solid wood flooring
consists of solid timber with a fibreboard
backing, which means you can maintain it by
sanding and resealing, just like real tongue
and groove flooring.
Solid wood or laminate overlay flooring is
not suitable for wet areas such as bathrooms
and laundries.

you choose, you can install a solid wood

Ceramic and porcelain tiles give your home
Mediterranean style. They’re durable, hard
wearing and require little maintenance.
Porcelain tiles are non-porous, which means
you can use them anywhere, even outside if
they are slip resistant. They are available in a
range of fashion colours and styles, including
the larger tiles which are becoming very
fashionable. Porcelain tiles are priced from

Ceramic tiles are porous therefore we do
not recommend that they be used outside.

Provided you prepare the surfaces and
correctly apply it, paint can be an economical
and easy-clean finish. It’s also an easy way
to revitalise the look of your kitchen. What’s
more, you can use different colours to create
stunning contrasts between your kitchen and
adjacent areas. For example, softer tones
leading into the dining or lounge area and
more vibrant tones where it meets the family
room.
The new Kitchen, Bathroom and Laundry (KBL)
paint from Taubmans is a great choice if you
are renovating. Its new formulation is a great
choice because it resists both moisture and
heat.
A high level of moisture can lead to a build-
up of mould, however the KBL paint has
inbuilt protection against mould and mildew,
saving you money in the long run.
