5. From this screen it is possible to perform the following operations.
The application of these operations was described in detail earlier in
this section.
Operation: Description:
Enter or alter thetool
length offset number
To enter or alter a valuefor thetool length offset number, move thecursor
to the tool numberof the toolto alterand press the {EDITLN OFF}
softkey. Key in the new offset number that calls the correct data from the
offset tablesfor that tool forits toollength offset number and pressthe
[TRANSMIT] key. The oldvalue for toollength (if any) isdiscarded and
the new value replacesit.
Enter or alter thetool
radius offset number
To enter or alter a valuefor thetool radius offset number, move the cursor
to the tool numberof the toolto alterand press the {EDITCT CMP}
softkey. Key in the new offset number that calls the correct data from the
offset tablesfor that tool foritsradius andpress the[TRANSMIT] key.
The old value for radius offset numbers (if any) isdiscarded andthe new
value replaces it.
Enter or alter the
expected life of a tool
To enter or alter a valuefor theexpected lifeof a tool, movethe cursor to
the tool number of the tool to alterand pressthe {EDIT LIFE} softkey.
Key inthe newexpected lifeof the tool (in unitsas determinedby thetool
life type) and pressthe [TRANSMIT] key. The oldvalue forexpected life
(if any) isdiscarded andthe newvalue replacesit.
Reset the accumulated
tool lifeto zero
To reset the accumulated tool life tozero, move the cursor tothe tool
number of thetool to alter and pressthe {RENEWTOOL} softkey. The
old accumulated life of the tool isdiscarded anda value of zero is entered
as thenew accumulatedtool life. This isnormally performedafter an old
or expiredtool has beenreplaced witha new tool. This updatesthe
status of thetool andremove anyOLD, or EXPIREDstatus.
Change color used to
graph the tool selected
on the CRT for color
systems
Each tool group maybe assignedits owntool color. To changethe color
selected for a toolon theCRTpress the{SCROL COLOR} softkey. This
alters toolcolor for thecurrent tool when tool paths aredisplayed ineither
quick checkgraphics, or active tool path graphics.

This feature allows the rapid loading of information into the tool
management tables. This is done by executing a program that
automatically loads the tool management tables. This program can also be
generated automatically when the tool management tables are backed up as
described later in this section.
Data is sent to the tool management tables when the control executes this
G10 block:
G10L3;
This block indicates to the control that any information following this
block is to be used to set the tool management tables.
