Window Well Installation Instructions

RockWell window wells mount directly to the foundation wall. The window

well must be installed 12” below window opening. We recommend that our

window wells be installed with 3/8” diameter by 4” concrete wedge anchors

at a minimum for a poured wall.

Installation Steps:

1. Make one mark on the foundation at desired location of the top of the

well utilizing either top right or left hole. Make sure well extends the

12” below window opening and the window opening is centered.

2. Using hammer drill, drill on this mark.

3. Place the concrete wedge anchor in the hole; seat it properly with a

hammer. Place top hole of window well on the first anchor and tighten

with a 1” diameter washer and nut on the anchor.

4. Hold the other side window well level on the wall, confirming with a

level where other top hole of the well should be placed. Mark the spot.

Please be sure if installing grates or covers later, that outside dimensions

–2– February 16, 2018 of the well at the top of capstone near flange is no greater than 73”. The wells will vary slightly and may be stretched or compressed to meet these dimensions. Please note: This is not an issue if not installing grate or cover. 5. Drill the other top hole on its mark. 6. Place the other concrete wedge anchor in this hole; seat it properly with a hammer. 7. Lift the well onto this anchor and put a 1” diameter washer and nut on the anchor.
