Introduction The S1 is the result of over 30 years experience in stage sound technology. The design brief was simple- build the best vocal mic in the world! How do you achieve that? Well, you need to have a sound quality that is equal to the finest studio microphones, and certainly has the experience to make this happen! The studio quality is a great start, but for live use the microphone must not suffer from feedback, handling or plosive noise.

Using the S1 • The S1 is a phantom powered microphone. To operate correctly it requires a 48V phantom supply from the mixing console, PA head or other source. • It is recommended that you use a high-quality microphone lead, and keep it as short as practical for your stage set up. This will ensure the highest quality sound reproduction. • When using stage monitors, set them up as shown below. This will direct the sound to your ears and towards the least responsive part of the S1’s pick up pattern.
Using the S1 A quick tip to reduce feedback - never put your hands over the ball head. This can significantly change the pick-up area of the mic, and can cause feedback. And of course, never point the front of mic at the speakers! • The ball head of the S1 is an engineering marvel. Made up of five separate mesh screens the outer is heat-treated steel, which has been bead-blasted and nickel-plated. Internally we have stainless steel meshes as well as a final nylon mesh.
