NTG-3 Instruction Manual www.rodemic.
Introduction Thank you for your purchase of the NTG-3 precision broadcast-grade shotgun microphone. ’s most exciting The NTG-3 is one of microphones. It is the result of years of development engineers, providing the professional by broadcast and film industries with an affordable yet uncompromising microphone. One of the key features of the NTG-3 is its ability to withstand adverse conditions.

Features • Designed to withstand adverse environmental conditions • 50% less self-noise than the majority of shotgun mics • True Condenser (external RF biased) • Extremely low handling noise • High level of immunity to radio frequency interference • High sensitivity • Superior broadcast sound quality • Designed & manufactured in Australia • Full 10 year guarantee* Powering the NTG-3 • The NTG-3 requires power to operate.
Connecting the NTG-3 • We strongly suggest the use of high quality XLR cables, using the shortest cable length possible to ensure minimal noise interference between the microphone output and the camera/recorder input. • The NTG-3 features a custom designed XLR connector that is specially designed to reduce susceptibility to RF interference from devices such as cell phones.
Using the NTG-3 • Shotgun microphones have a narrow ‘pick-up’ angle or polar response, and so can be used to great effect with cameras for news gathering, wedding videos, sporting events or in any situation where you want to focus on a particular area of sound source without having your audio overpowered by ambient noise. The pick-up pattern of the NTG-3 has been tailored to be slightly wider and therefore more directionally forgiving than comparable shotgun microphones on the market.
Warranty All microphones are warranted for one year from date of purchase. You can extend that to a full ten years if you register online at www.rodemic.com. The warranty covers parts and labour that may be required to repair the microphone during the warranty period. The warranty excludes defects caused by normal wear and tear, modification, shipping damage, or failure to use the microphone as per the instruction guide.
