Bluetooth device (*).

(*) A device that can output audio via Bluetooth, such as a smartphone or
audio player.
Main Features
What is pairing?
“Pairing is the procedure by which the
Bluetooth device that you want to
use is registered on this unit (the two
devices recognize each other).
Make settings so that music data saved
on the Bluetooth device can be played
wirelessly via this unit.
MEMO
5 Once a Bluetooth device has been paired with this unit, there
is no need to perform pairing again. If you want to connect this
unit with a Bluetooth device that has already been paired, refer
to “Connecting an Already-Paired Bluetooth Device.
5 The following steps are one possible example. For details, refer to
the owner’s manual of your Bluetooth device.
1. Place the Bluetooth device that you want to connect
nearby this unit.
MEMO
If you have more than one unit of this model, power-on only
the unit that you want to pair (power-o the other units).
2. Press the [POWER] button to power-on this unit.
* This unit is equipped with a protection circuit. A brief interval
(a few seconds) after turning the unit on is required before it
will operate normally.
3. Continue holding down the [PAIRING] button until the
Bluetooth indicator blinks rapidly.
This unit’s Bluetooth function turns on, and pairing begins.
4. Turn on the Bluetooth function of the Bluetooth device.
Example) In the case of iPhone
5. Select “Roland JC-01” that is shown in the Bluetooth
device screen of your Bluetooth device.
When pairing succeeds, this unit’s Bluetooth indicator is lit.
MEMO
If the Bluetooth device’s screen asks you to enter a “Pass Key,
enter “0000” (four zeros).
Registering a Bluetooth Device (Pairing)
* Use a standard USB AC adaptor (5 V /over 1.8 A) for charging.
Before using this unit for the rst time, connect the included micro
USB charging cable to the rear panel 5 V
port and charge it.

Charging
1. Play back music on your Bluetooth device.
To adjust the volume, use the [VOLUME] knob or make
adjustments on your Bluetooth device.
MEMO
The playback from an audio player connected to the AUDIO IN
jack can be mixed with the sound of the Bluetooth device.
To set the volume balance, make adjustments on each device.
Listening to Music
Using this unit’s built-in mic
and speaker, you can conduct a
hands-free conversation via your
smartphone.
Making a call
1.
Make a call from your smartphone.
To hang up, press the [ ] (Talk) button.
Receiving a call
1.
When a ring tone occurs, press the [ ] (Talk) button.
To hang up, press the [ ] (Talk) button once again.
Hands-Free Conversation
1. Perform steps 1, 2 of “Registering a Bluetooth Device (Pairing).
2. Press the [PAIRING] button to turn on this unit’s Bluetooth
function.
This unit’s Bluetooth indicator blinks.
3. Turn on the Bluetooth function of the Bluetooth device.
When connection succeeds, this unit’s Bluetooth indicator is lit.
MEMO
5 If connection does not succeed, select “Roland JC-01” in the
Bluetooth device screen of the Bluetooth device.
5 The connection is automatically ended if the Bluetooth
device does not play for approximately 15 minutes.
5 To disconnect, press the [PAIRING] button, or turn o the
Bluetooth function of the Bluetooth device.

Move this unit and the Bluetooth device closer to each
other.
If this unit is visible as a device in the Bluetooth settings
of the Bluetooth device
Delete the device registration for this unit, and then
perform pairing once again.
If this unit is not visible as a device
Turn the Bluetooth function of the Bluetooth device o
and then on again; then begin pairing from this unit to pair
the devices once again.
Troubleshooting
About the auto-o function
The power of this unit automatically turns o if nothing is
connected to the AUDIO IN jack and approximately 15 minutes
have elapsed without a Bluetooth device being connected
(Auto O function).
