Operating the DJ-808
Using the DJ-808 in Stand-Alone Mode
You can use the DJ-808 when it is not connected to Serato DJ (when Serato
DJ is not running).
In stand-alone mode, you can use the following functions in each section
of the DJ-808.

* Key information of the channel selected by the [SHIFT]+[CUE]

Deck section
A MIDI message is transmitted when you operate a button/knob.
[SYNC] button
In standalone mode, the operation of the SYNC button changes.
When the [SYNC] button is lit:
Synchronization with an external device is possible.
If MIDI clock is input from a connected device, the DJ-808
synchronizes to that MIDI clock.
If multiple MIDI clocks are input, the DJ-808 synchronizes in the
following order of priority.
1. PC port
2. USB HOST port 3
3. USB HOST port 4
When the [SYNC] button is unlit:
The DJ-808 does not synchronize with an external device.
The DJ-808 is the MIDI clock master.
Performance pads
* With the default settings, the unit is in TR mode. You can switch
to another mode, but in modes other than TR mode, pressing a
button or pad only transmits MIDI messages.
Others
5 When you move (press) a top panel controller (except for
the controllers of the TR-S/VT section), MIDI messages are
transmitted.
5 MIDI messages are transmitted from the PC port. Only MIDI
messages for synchronization are transmitted from the MIDI OUT
connector.
