rubber mallet or hammer
Directions
1. Hold headboard upright near its desired placement.
2. Allowing the side rail to rest on ground, lift one end of side rail into headboard post by
slipping shoulder screws of side rail into headboard interlocking keyhole hardware. Note:
the screw ends must be adjusted properly. If they are too tight, the screw heads will not
lock in place. If they are too loose, the rails will move, creating squeaks and eventually
weaken the joint. To ensure your rail tension is correct, make sure the rail moves down
and locks when you tap it with a mallet. You should not be able to twist the rails with
your hands once they are in place. Tighten screws if needed after assembly.
3. Attach footboard to both rails in the same manner as headboard.
4. Place the four brass pins in holes on slat support ledges.
5. California king only: Slide center support into slots on headboard and footboard.
6. Place slats on side rails with the two end slats hooking over the four pins
to prevent movement.
7. Place mattress on slats.

Wood naturally expands and contracts causing bed connections to loosen over time. This
process is a natural characteristic of wood. Tighten hardware occasionally to restore the bed
to original stability.
