2.1 Unpacking the G3G
The G3G comes in two [2] boxes, one of which contains the G3G RAID drives and
the other contains the following items:
• G3G RAID Unit
• Quick Start Guide
• Left and right center-mount brackets
• Left and right mounting rails
• RJ11-to-DB9 serial data cable
• 1.5m (4.9 ft) Power cords (2)
• CD with Product Manual and Quick
Start Guide
Warning
The electronic components within the G3G disk array are sensitive to damage
from Electro-Static Discharge (ESD). Observe appropriate precautions at all
times when handling the G3G or its subassemblies.
2.2 Mounting G3G in a Rack
Important
Use the following categories of network cables with the G3G:
• Cat 6, preferred
• Cat 5E, minimum
Important
For ease of use the G3G12 chassis is shown for the mounting in
a rack. The G3G16 chassis follows the same procedure.
