4.6 Working with Subsystems
A Galaxy3G subsystem is identified by its Management Port IP address. Subsystem functions include:
Viewing S
Setting an Alias for the S
Setting Redundancy for the S

Clearing the Runtime E
Viewing NVRAM Events
Saving NVRAM E
Clearing NVRAM E
Viewing Current B

Viewing Subsystem Information
To view information about a subsystem, click the Subsystem icon in Tree View. Management View
displays the subsystem information.
Setting an Alias for the Subsystem
An alias is optional. To set an alias for this subsystem:
1. In Tree View, click the Subsystem icon.
2. In Management View, click the Settings tab.
3. Enter a name into the Alias field.
Maximum of 48 characters. Use letters, numbers, space between words, and underscore.
4. Click the Submit button.
Setting Redundancy for the Subsystem
To set redundancy for this subsystem:
1. In Tree View, click the Subsystem
icon.
2. In Management View, click the Settings tab.
3. In the Redundancy Type dropdown menu, select:
Active-Active – Both RAID controllers are active and can share the load
Active-Standby – One RAID controller is in standby mode and goes active if the other fails
