Never immerse the appliance in water even switched off or unplugged! Please note that too much dust can affect the efficiency of the cooling system of your BeerTender. It is possible that dust enters in the machine through the vent grid at the rear of the machine.

Just like glass bottles, a keg may burst when placed in the freezer. Moreover, freezing diminishes the quality of the beer. 2. Use your BeerTender appliance in a place where the temperature is between 12°C and 30°C.
2 - BeerT_moreway B80rowenta_ENG.qxd:BeerT B80 Rowenta moreway.qxd 13/03/09 10:30 Warning! Contents under pressure. Do not shake or drop. Do not expose to sunlight or temperatures above 30°C. Even when the keg is empty, do not force it open and do not expose to flame or fire. ENGLISH 5 Getting the BeerTender system ready For your own and others’ safety, please keep meticulously to the “Safety rules” described in chapter 3. Cooling the BeerTender Keg BeerTender kegs must be chilled before use.
2 - BeerT_moreway B80rowenta_ENG.qxd:BeerT B80 Rowenta moreway.qxd 30°C 10:30 Page 31 The temperature of the room must be between 12°C and 30°C. Set the drip tray and grate in place at the front of the appliance. Make sure the drip tray is properly fitted and positioned. Do not install the appliance near sources of heat or in places exposed to direct sunlight. Note: keep in mind that during use the drip tray will have to be emptied and rinsed regularly.
2 - BeerT_moreway B80rowenta_ENG.qxd:BeerT B80 Rowenta moreway.qxd 13/03/09 10:30 Insert the plug into a socket with the correct voltage and turn on the appliance by moving the main switch to “I”. The appliance will immediately start cooling the inner chamber as soon as the main switch is set to “I”. 6 Using the BeerTender system ENGLISH Using the Keg The BeerTender Keg features a patented system for storing and dispensing beer.
2 - BeerT_moreway B80rowenta_ENG.qxd:BeerT B80 Rowenta moreway.qxd 13/03/09 10:30 Page 33 When the lid is completely open, insert a BeerTender Keg as shown in the figure. Remove the tap cover by pulling it upward as shown on the drawing. Note: this cover can be removed for cleaning. Take the tap of the BeerTender Keg and fit it into place. Note: do not try to actuate the tap of the BeerTender Keg by hand. Position the beer tube as shown on drawing. Put the tap cover back in place.
2 - BeerT_moreway B80rowenta_ENG.qxd:BeerT B80 Rowenta moreway.qxd 13/03/09 10:30 Make sure that the handle is positioned as shown on the drawing to avoid damaging the beer tube. ENGLISH Carefully close the appliance lid. Activation of the pump is normal once the appliance lid is closed in order to ensure the right pressure for dispensing beer.
13/03/09 10:30 Maintaining pressure BeerTender is equipped with a pump which maintains the right pressure inside the BeerTender Keg both for dispensing beer and preserving its quality. The compressor will start up in four situations: 1. when you close the lid, with a keg inside: the pump will adjust the pressure to the right level; 2. when you are dispensing beer: when the keg is getting empty the pump will start after a delay or not at all; 3.
2 - BeerT_moreway B80rowenta_ENG.qxd:BeerT B80 Rowenta moreway.qxd 13/03/09 10:30 ENGLISH Avoid contact between the dispensing spout, the glass and the beer already in the glass. This could cause excessive foaming. Firmly and quickly pull the handle down as far as it will go. Let the beer run into the glass. Note: Every time you install a new keg in the BeerTender appliance, the first glass of beer will fill up with too much foam. When this occurs, allow the glass to stand on the drip tray.
2 - BeerT_moreway B80rowenta_ENG.qxd:BeerT B80 Rowenta moreway.qxd 13/03/09 10:30 Page 37 Cleaning after daily use The drip tray and grate should be cleaned after every use. Note: You can wash the drip tray with warm water and a mild detergent. The drip tray is also dishwasher safe. Warning! Never use aggressive cleaning agents such as vinegar, acids, solvents or petrol. Cleaning after installation of a new BeerTender Keg When you install a new BeerTender Keg you must clean the dispensing spout.
2 - BeerT_moreway B80rowenta_ENG.qxd:BeerT B80 Rowenta moreway.qxd 13/03/09 10:30 The tap cover can be removed. Clean it with warm water and a mild detergent. Warning! Do not wash the tap cover in a dishwasher, as it could be damaged and lose its shine. Never use aggressive agents such as vinegar, acids, solvents or petrol. ENGLISH 9 Maintenance If you notice that the pump is running irregularly or more often than usual in the stand-by mode, the tightness valve may be dirty.

13/03/09 10:30 The temperature indicator on the control panel never lights up. The BeerTender appliance is exposed to too hot a temperature or to direct sunlight (see also chapter 5 – “Cooling the keg” and “Installing the BeerTender”). Use the appliance indoor and move it in a room where ambient temperature does not exceed 30°C. The appliance pump is working even when beer is not being tapped. The tightness valve in the lid is damaged or must be cleaned.
