WHAT WATER TO USE IN ROWENA IRONS TAP WATER Rowena irons are designed to be used with REGULAR TAP WATER (up to 12 grains of hardness). If your water is harder than this, Rowena recommends mixing half tap water with half distilled water which reduces the hardness. Never use 100% pure distilled water since this can cause the iron to spit and leak. SOFTENED WATER There are many types of household water softeners and the water from many of them is perfectly acceptable for use in an iron.
RE EMENDATIONS FOR USE Rowena Sole plates are made aut of high quality materials; whether they are mirror-polished AIR GLIDE stainless steel or AIR GLIDE Titan Plus. However, during normal use, a sticky film can build up on the sole plate. This is caused by the build-up of detergents from clothes, starch or melted synthetic fibers. This build-up reduces the glide and makes it harder to iron.
