Jumpers
The user-selectable jumpers located on the main board of the DV-MUX3 are iden-
tified in figure 2-2.
In addition to the jumpers identified in figure 2-2, the main board includes addi-
tional factory-set jumpers which must not be moved.

MODE Selection
Jumper, J2
This jumper selects the DV-MUX3 bandwidth allocation mode, and its configura-
tion mode. The jumper has four positions:
ADAPTIV The DV-MUX3 operates as a master, and uses the adaptive band-
width allocation mode. In this mode, the DV-MUX3 detects the
main link data rate, allocates the bandwidth configured for voice
channels, and assigns the remaining bandwidth (less the link man-
agement overhead) to the data channel. In addition, when the voice
channel is idle, the DV-MUX3 automatically reallocates its band-
width to the data channel. The ADAPTIV mode ensures that the
