APPENDIX D – RMON ACCEPTABLE MIB PARAMETERS
The following tables present the MIB parameters that may be used to generate
RMON alarms.
IF-MIB (RFC 2863)
ifInOctets The total number of bytes received on the interface, including
framing characters.
ifInUcastPkts The total number of bytes of all the data bytes received on the
line, including bytes from bad packets and framing octets.
ifInDiscards The number of received packets that are dropped due to lack
of receive buffers.
ifInErrors The number of received packets that contained errors
preventing them from being deliverable to a higher-layer
protocol.
ifOutOctets The total number of bytes transmitted out of the interface.
ifOutUcastPkts The total number of transmitted packets that were not
addressed to a multicast or broadcast address.
ifInMulticastPkts The total number of good packets received that were directed
to a multicast address.
ifInBroadcastPkts The total number of good packets received that were directed
to the broadcast address.
ifOutMulticastPkts The total number of packets transmitted that were directed to
a multicast address.
ifOutBroadcastPkts The total number of packets transmitted that were directed to
the broadcast address.
ifHCInOctets The total number of bytes received on the interface, including
framing characters.
