Installation Table 3-1 gives a quick overview of the PlasmaWall installation process. The sections following this one provide detailed instructions. Note Installation should be performed by a qualified custom video installation specialist. For Details, refer to page... Procedure EL IM IN A R Step Y Table 3-1.
Installation 3.3 Installation Considerations Proper installation of your PlasmaWall will ensure the highest possible picture quality. Whether you are installing the PlasmaWall temporarily or permanently, you should take the following into account to ensure that it performs optimally. Mounting the PlasmaWall ➤ on a Wall or Table Stand To install the PlasmaWall, you will need either an optional table stand or wall-mounting kit. The PlasmaWall cannot be installed on its own.
Installation If you are mounting the PlasmaWall in an enclosure, leave at least 2 inches (50 mm) of space on all sides between it and surrounding objects, as shown in Figure 3-2. This allows heat to disperse, maintaining the proper operating temperature. Ventilation 50mm (2") Wall 50mm (2") EL IM IN A R Y 50mm (2") 50mm (2") Wall 50mm (2") Figure 3-2.
Installation 3.4 Connections to the PlasmaWall and DHD Controller Proceed as follows to connect the PlasmaWall to the DHD Controller, your video sources, external controller(s) – if present – and AC power. When connecting your equipment: • Turn off all equipment before making any connections. • Use the correct signal cables for each source. • Ensure that the cables are securely connected. Tighten the thumbscrews on connectors that have them.
Installation Digital Video Connection: The PlasmaWall has two HDMI inputs. Connect the DVI output from the DHD Controller to the DVD/HD3 input, using a DVI-to-HDMI cable. RGB-HD Connection: Connect the RGBHV output from the DHD Controller to the PC/RGB input on the PlasmaWall. Use a VGA-to-RGBHV breakout cable with 5 BNC connectors on the DHD end and a standard, 15-pin, male VGA connector on the PlasmaWall end.
Installation Connecting Source ➤ Components to the DHD Controller Connect your video sources to the DHD Controller as shown and described in the sections that follow. DVI Connections: See Figure 3-5. Use the DVI inputs whenever possible. This ensures the highest video quality because the signal is carried in the digital domain throughout the entire signal path, from source component output into the display.
