13 A clogged ﬁlter will aﬀect performance.

14 Check your hands are free from soap, or

anything which might leave a taint.

15 Switch the kettle oﬀ, and let it cool.

16 Remove the lid.

17 Slide the ﬁlter up and out of its guides.

18 Brush the ﬁlter under a running tap.

19 Rinse the kettle, to remove scale particles.

20 Slide the clean ﬁlter back into its guides.

21 Replace the lid.

The kettle must be earthed. Fit a 13A BS1362

fuse in a 13A BS1363 plug. Fit the

green/yellow wire to E or E, the

blue to N, the brown to L. Fit the

cord grip. If in doubt, call an

electrician. Don’t use a non-

rewireable plug unless the fuse

cover is ﬁtted. If you remove the

plug, dispose of it.

5 Don’t open the lid till boiling has finished. 6 Pour slowly, and don’t over-tilt the kettle. 7 Unplug the stand when not in use. 8 Check the lid is fully closed before switching the kettle on, or it may not switch off. 9 Fill with at least 2 cups of water, but don’t fill past max, or it may spit boiling water. 10 Lift the kettle off the stand to fill or pour. 11 Use the kettle only for heating water. 12 Use the kettle only with the stand supplied. 13 Don’t use it with a timer or remote control.
