Congratulations on the purchase of your Russell Hobbs appliance. Each unit is manufactured to ensure safety and reliability. Before using the appliance for the first time, please read the instruction booklet carefully and keep it for future reference. Pass it on if you pass on the appliance. When using electrical appliances, basic safety precautions should always be followed.
BEFORE USING THE TOASTER FOR THE FIRST TIME • • • • Ensure all packaging, swing tags and promotional labelling has been removed from the toaster, and check that the toasting slots are empty before connecting to the wall power outlet. Position your toaster in a well ventilated area, on a firm, level, heat-resistant surface, clear of curtains, drapes and other combustible materials. Plug the power cord into the wall power outlet and switch on.
EJECT • • To stop the toaster mid-cycle, press the Toast/Cancel button. The toast will rise and the elements will switch off. DEFROST • • • • • • Press the Defrost button to defrost and toast frozen bread. Press the Lighter or Darker buttons to decrease or increase the setting. Press the Toast/Cancel button to start the defrost and toast cycle. After 3 seconds the time countdown will appear in the LED display.
CRUMPET • • • • • • • • • Use the Crumpet button to toast crumpets crisp on the inner-facing side, and soft and warm on the outside. Place the crumpets in the toaster with the top side of the crumpet facing the center of the toaster. Press the Crumpet button. A darkness setting will appear in the LED display. Press the Lighter or Darker buttons to decrease or increase the setting. Press the Toast/Cancel button to start the Crumpet cycle. After 3 seconds the time countdown will appear in the LED display.
SOUND • • • • • When the toaster finishes cooking, an audible beep will be heard. To silence the beep, press and hold the Lighter and Darker buttons together for 3 seconds. The toaster will beep once to indicate that it has now been silenced. To un-silence the toaster, press and hold Lighter and Darker buttons together for 3 seconds. The toaster will beep twice to indicate it has now been un-silenced.
IMPORTANT SAFEGUARDS When using electrical appliances, basic safety precautions should always be followed, including: 1. To protect against electrical hazards, do not immerse the power cord, plug or toaster in water or any other liquid. 2. Do not insert anything, other than food to be toasted, into the toasting slots.
