History of Russound
In 1967 in a quiet town in rustic New England,
Russound was founded based on a desire to make
the fi nest audio accessories on the market. The
company’s early products included hi-fi accessory
“solutions” such as speaker selectors, tape monitor
switchers and volume controls. Russound became
synonymous for their high-quality volume controls
and soon developed a reputation as the industry’s
leading manufacturer.
While the product offerings expanded, Russound
evolved into both an OEM manufacturer and a
manufacturer and marketer of their own brand of
products. Due to the high value, uniqueness, reli-
ability and simplicity of their products, Russound
became the preferred brand for installers in
a wide variety of markets -- from custom residen-
tial to light commercial to security and low voltage
contractors.
Over the years, Russound steadily developed a full
line of quality products for the custom installation
markets. The company increasingly became
known for their performance, reliability and service.
As the custom and low voltage installation markets
grew, Russound listened and responded with
exciting products -- controller amplifi ers, proces-
sors, multi-channel amplifi ers, keypads, in-wall and
outdoor loudspeakers and more.
Russound became known as an outstanding and
easy company to do business with offering the fi n-
est technical support that included extended hours,
education and training for both in-house and in-the-
fi eld. Around the world, Russound built long-term
relationships with their representatives, distributors,
dealers and installers. And that vision still lives on,
as exciting new technologies and new demands of
the 21st century inspire the company to create all
new solutions for their customer needs.
Today in Newmarket, New Hampshire, Russound
continues to design, manufacture and market inno-
vative products that sound great, are easy to install,
simple to use and that offer great value. In addition
to volume controls, Russound also offers complete
multiroom audio/video control systems, multi-chan-
nel amplifi ers, in-wall and outdoor loudspeakers.
