Rust-Oleum Rust Reformer® instantly bonds with rust and transforms it to a non-rusting, flat-black
paintable surface and prevents future rust. It saves you the effort of sanding rust all the way down
to bare metal. Rust Reformer is odorless, water soluble, completely safe and easy to apply.
Preparation: Remove flaking paint and rust with sandpaper. Clean with soap and water, rinse and let dry.
WARNING! If you scrape, sand or remove old paint, you may release lead dust.
LEAD IS TOXIC. Contact the National Lead Information Hotline at 1-800-424-LEAD
or log on to www.epa.gov/lead.
Application: Shake well. Apply Rust Reformer to rusted surfaces directly
from the bottle or pour needed amount into a non-metallic bowl, then apply
using a brush. After 15 minutes, Rust Reformer will dry to a black surface.
Painting: For oil based paint, wait 4 hours after Rust Reformer has dried
before painting. For lacquer or aerosol paint, wait 3 days. If no top coat
is desired, a second application of Rust Reformer is recommended.
Clean up: Spills should be cleaned up immediately with water.
