.DESCRIPTION AND USES .
EpoxyShield
®
Blacktop Patch & Crack Filler is a multi-
purpose patching and crack filler material for asphalt
surface repairs. The dry powder formula is recommended
for repairing minor holes and cracks and smoothing
deteriorated areas in residential asphalt driveways.

SURFACE PREPARATION
Clean the driveway surface of any dirt, debris, oil and
grease spots. Trim any grass or weeds overgrowing onto
the driveway. Scrape clean all cracks and holes using a
screwdriver or wire brush. Remove remaining dirt, dust
and debris by sweeping with a stiff broom. Clean heavy
grease or oil spots with EpoxyShield Blacktop Cleaner &
Degreaser (sold separately). Thoroughly rinse driveway
with fresh water and allow the surface to dry before
application.
APPLICATION
Use rubber gloves during mixing, installation and clean up
to avoid stains to hands. Black pigment will stain the
mixing vessel and any areas where it is spilled, including
adjacent concrete surfaces. Clean up immediately using
soap and water.
Mix EpoxyShield Blacktop Patch & Crack Filler dry powder
with clean water in a separate container according to the
Measuring Ratio Table on the next page. When mixing,
always add the dry powder to the water. Mix thoroughly
for 2-3 minutes with a trowel to disperse the dry patch
material uniformly. Do not over water or mix more material
that can be used within 1 hour.
Apply when air and surface temperatures are between 40-
90°F (4-32°C) and no rain is forecasted for 24 hours. At
colder temperatures, the patch may be slow setting and
require a longer hardening period. Do not use when the
surrounding air and surface temperatures fall below 40°F
PRODUCT APPLICATION (cont.) .
Patch: To repair driveway holes up to 1”d deep, apply with
a trowel using sufficient pressure to fill the hole and to
ensure maximum bond. Use for all repairs up to 1” in
depth. Do not re-temper (add additional water) or over
trowel. For driveway repairs greater than 1” deep, extend
the 10 lbs. of Blacktop Patch & Crack Filler dry powder
with up to 5 lbs. of 3/8”-1/2” pea gravel. Mix the dry
powder and pea gravel thoroughly. Then add to water
following the measuring ratios on the next page. Blend
thoroughly and apply with a trowel using sufficient
pressure to fill the hole and ensure maximum bond.
Crack Filler: To repair driveway cracks up to ½” wide,
apply crack filler slowly into driveway cracks and wipe
clean any excess from the crack surface using the point of
a hand trowel or similar tool. Do not apply more than 1”
deep in any single application. Do not re-temper (add
additional water) or overfill. For driveway cracks greater
than 1” deep, or1/2” wide refer to the mixing and
application instructions on the next page.
DRY & RECOAT TIMES
Surface should be ready for normal traffic in 24 hours. Dry
times increase at cooler temperatures.
CLEAN-UP
Wash tools and equipment with warm water and a mild
detergent immediately aft
within 24 hours. On excessively hot days (90°F or above)
use the material only if shaded from the direct rays of the sun.
Slightly dampen the surface. Remove standing water
and puddles.
