..PRODUCT APPLICATION .
APPLICATION CONDITIONS
Use when temperatures are between 4F and 9F (4°C and
32°C). Use in well ventilated and covered areas away from the
sun. Do not apply Wipe New to hot surfaces or in direct sunlight.
Ensure surface is clean, dry and cool to ambient temperature
before applying Wipe New.
SURFACE PREPARATION
Prep and application instructions must be followed properly to
ensure a successful and long lasting result. Tire sidewall
surfaces are porous by nature. The first coat of Wipe New Tires
will be absorbed into the surface to helpset the surface for the
2nd coat. Older tires and tires with tall and/or softer sidewalls
(truck/ SUV tires) will be more porous and require more Wipe
New Tires.
Thoroughly clean your sidewalls and all four tires to remove all
traces of soil, brake dust, silicone, and oxidized rubber before
applying Wipe New Tires. This will allow you to work quickly and
without interruption once you begin your application. Wet the tire
and keep it wet while cleaning. Liberally spray the sidewall with a
strong degreaser (pro tip: Westleys BlecheWite
®,
which is
specifically formulated for cleaning tires, is highly recommended).
Using a stiff plastic brush, vigorously scrub the sidewall. Pay
close attention to the edges of the tire treads, as well as the
raised lettering and ribs as these are areas where dirt tends to
cling and buildup. Rinse the sidewall, then wipe it with a clean
white cloth.
If black residue appears, repeat the cleaning process until the
cloth no longer picks up any residue. Allow Tires to Dry
completely Your Tires must be 100% dry before proceeding to
application. Ensure there is no hidden water in areas such as the
raised lettering, tire tread, on the rim, or the bead around the
wheel that may drip out and run along the tire during or after
application (Pro Tip: If available, a quick application of Isopropyl
Alcohol with a lint-free rag will help remove any residual
contaminants and further dry the surface).
..PRODUCT APPLICATION (cont.) .
APPLICATION
Put on the chemical resistant gloves; ensure that you are in a
well ventilated area and that the tires are clean and completely
dry. Saturate one edge of the microfiber applicator (included) and
begin to apply Wipe New Tires to your sidewalls. Work around
the tire, ensuring that you also coat the raised lettering and
textured areas. Keep applicator moistened with Wipe New Tires
throughout the entire application process. Apply one coat and
proceed to the next tire, until all four tires have a single coat. After
coating all four tires, pull the vehicle forward and apply Wipe New
to the portion of the tire missed during this first application. In
most cases, you will see Wipe New Tires partially absorb into the
sidewall after the first coat has been applied, this is normal.
VERY IMPORTANT: Wait a full 5 minutes after applying the first
coat before proceeding. Then, starting with the tire to which you
first applied Wipe New Tires, and following in the same order,
apply a second coat to each tire. Ensure that the applicator is
thoroughly saturated and apply the second coat at a slower pace
to allow Wipe New Tires to flow out and give a darker, smoother
finish. Be sure to keep the applicator well moistened throughout
the process. If a higher level of gloss is desired, you may apply a
third coat but make sure to wait a full 5 minutes between coats.
If Wipe New comes in contact with an unintended surface such
as paint; wipe it off immediately with a dry cloth. Within an hour of
application (while still undergoing initial cure), acetone may be
used to remove Wipe New from a painted surface, but not from
plastic or any nonmetal surface. Because acetone can damage
vehicle parts or paint, it should be used only after checking with
the vehicle manufacturer or a Certified Paint Professional as to
how to best apply or remove product. After Wipe New has cured;
removing it will require the use of a fine polishing compound or
high grit automotive sandpaper. Applying friction (ex: rubbing
against a curb) will remove Wipe New Tires.
DRY TIME
Let Wipe New Tires dry for 1 hour before driving vehicle and 24
hours before exposing to moisture (rain, dew, sprinklers, car
wash, etc). Store excess product in a cool, dry place.
COVERAGE
One bottle of Wipe New Tires will cover all 4 tires on an average,
mid-sized car.
DISPOSAL
When finished, set the applicator cloth in a location out of the
reach of children and allow it to dry completely prior to discarding
(a few hours).
