Enrolling a User
• Write the user’s name on the shadow card.
• Swipe the paper shadow card through the reader
followed by the magstripe card you wish to enroll.
• File the shadow card in a safe place, the user is now
programmed to use the personal magstripe card as a pass.
Deleting a User
• Swipe the shadow card bearing the name of the unwanted user.
• The shadow card can then be used again to enroll another user
on the reader, if desired.

Use with Electric Strikes or Electromagnetic Locks*
• Swipe the lock mode card to convert to fail unlocked
(fail safe) operation for electromagnetic locks.
• Swipe the lock mode card at any time to change back to
fail locked (fail secure) operation for electric strikes.
*NOTE: Installation must comply with local codes.
Initializing the Unit
The reader operates with a starter card pack which contains
a master card and 100 enrollment (shadow) cards. When
the reader is powered up for the first time it will need to be
initialized by swiping the master card through it. The reader
will then accept the remaining cards.
Setting “Door Open” Time
• Swipe the master card through the reader.
• Wait for the amount of time you wish the door to remain
unlocked after swiping.
• Swipe the master card again.
• The door open time is now set as the interval between
the first and second swipes of the master card.
Swiping this card through the reader
will bar or enroll a card.

Write name
1. Enrollment of shadow card pack: Initial swipe of this
card enables shadow packs for use.
2. Door unlock time: Swipe this card, the reader will
"beep" once per second. Wait for the desired "door
unlock" time, then swipe again. (3-5 seconds is
usually sufficient.)
Swipe this card to convert lock mode from Fail
Locked/Fail Secure (power supplied), to Fail
Unlocked/Fail Safe (power interrupted).
