ELECTRICAL EXTENSION CORDS ELECTRICAL CONNECTION Use only 3-wire extension cords that have 3-prong grounding plugs and 3-pole receptacles that accept the tool’s plug. When using a power tool at a considerable distance from the power source, use an extension cord heavy enough to carry the current that the tool will draw. An undersized extension cord will cause a drop in line voltage, resulting in a loss of power and causing the motor to overheat.

ASSEMBLY MOUNTING THE WORK TABLE FOR USE WITH THE DISC SANDER See Figure 6, page 15. n Insert the work table index pin into the hole in the tool’s housing. n Position a washer over the table lock knob then tighten the table lock knob securely. MOUNTING THE WORK TABLE FOR USE WITH THE BELT SANDER See Figure 7, page 15. n Insert the work table index pin into the hole in the sanding belt arm. n Position a washer over the table lock knob then tighten the table lock knob securely.
OPERATION LOCKING THE SWITCH WARNING: Applying the workpiece to the right side of the sanding disc could cause the workpiece to kickback and/or loss of control. Failure to heed this warning could result in serious personal injury. WARNING: See Figure 12, page 16. n Place the switch in the OFF position. n Wait until the belt/disc sander has come to a full and complete stop. n Remove the switch key from the switch assembly. Store key in safe place.
OPERATION See Figure 17, page 17. n Hold the workpiece firmly, keeping fingers away from the sanding belt. Sanding inside curves on the sanding belt: Always sand inside curves on the idler drum. n Hold the workpiece firmly, keeping fingers away from the sanding belt. n Keep the end pressed firmly against the work support moving work evenly across the sanding belt. n Keep the curve pressed firmly against the idler drum moving work evenly across the sanding belt.
MAINTENANCE LUBRICATION WARNING: When servicing, use only identical replacement parts. Use of any other parts may create a hazard or cause product damage. All of the bearings in this tool are lubricated with a sufficient amount of high grade lubricant for the life of the unit under normal operating conditions. ASSEMBLAGE MONTAGE DE LA TABLE DE TRAVAIL POUR L’UTILISATION AVEC LE DISQUE DE PONÇAGE Voir la figure 6, page 15. n Insérez la épingle d’index dans le trou dans le logement de l’outil. n Mettez une rondelle sur le bouton de blocage de table alors serrer solidement une rondelle sur le bouton de blocage de table. UTILISATION VERROUILLAGE DE L’INTERRUPTEUR AVERTISSEMENT : Un violent recul de la pièce à poncer peut se produire lors de l’entrée en contact de la pièce à poncer avec le côté droit du disque de ponçage et/ou une perte de contrôle. La non-observation de cet avertissement peut entraîner des blessures graves. Voir la figure 12, page 16. n Mettez l’interrupteur à la position « OFF » (ARRÊT). n Attendez que la ponceuse à bande/disque s’arrête complètement. n Retirez la clé de l’interrupteur.
UTILISATION PONÇAGE D’UNE PIÈCE CINTRÉE Voir les figures 18 et 19, page 17. AVERTISSEMENT : TOUJOURS utiliser le plaque de support pour ponçage horizontal et utiliser la table de travail pour sanding vertical. Utiliser la ponceuse sans utiliser aussi le plaque de travail ou la table de travail peut exposer l’opérateur pour pincer des points et pourrait avoir pour résultat la blessure personnelle sérieuse. ASPECTOS ELÉCTRICOS CORDONES DE EXTENSIÓN Sólo utilice cordones de extensión de 3 conductores con clavijas de tres patillas y receptáculos de tres polos que acepten la clavija del cordón de la herramienta. Al utilizar una herramienta eléctrica a una distancia considerable del suministro de corriente, asegúrese de utilizar un cordón de extensión del grueso suficiente para soportar el consumo de corriente de la herramienta.

FUNCIONAMIENTO LIJADO DE SUPERFICIES EN LA BANDA DE LIJAR Vea la figura 17, página 18. n Sujete firmemente la pieza de trabajo, manteniendo los dedos alejados de la banda de lijar. n Mantenga el extremo oprimido firmemente contra el soporte de la pieza de trabajo moviendo la pieza de trabajo uniformemente a través de la banda de lijar. NOTA: Tenga mucho cuidado cuando lije piezas muy delgadas.
MANTENIMIENTO LUBRICACIÓN ADVERTENCIA: Para el servicio de la unidad sólo utilice piezas de repuesto idénticas. El empleo de piezas diferentes puede causar un peligro o dañar el producto. Todos los cojinetes de esta herramienta están lubricados con suficiente cantidad de aceite de alta calidad para toda la vida útil de la unidad en condiciones normales de funcionamiento.
