GENERAL SAFETY RULES n Keep firm footing and balance. Do not overreach. Overreaching can result in loss of balance or exposure to hot surfaces. n Never operate the unit without a spark arrestor screen; this screen is located inside the muffler. n Product users on United States Forest Service land, and in some states, must comply with fire prevention regulations. This product is equipped with a spark arrestor; however, other user requirements may apply.

ASSEMBLY UNPACKING INSTALLING THE VACUUM HANDLE This product requires assembly. n Carefully remove the tool and any accessories from the box. Make sure that all items listed in the packing list are included. n Inspect the tool carefully to make sure no breakage or damage occurred during shipping. n Do not discard the packing material until you have carefully inspected and satisfactorily operated the tool. n If any parts are damaged or missing, please call 1-800-860-4050 for assistance. See Figure 3.
ASSEMBLY INSTALLING THE VACUUM BAG ADAPTOR INSTALLED IN VACUUM BAG See Figures 4 - 5. n Remove the nozzle and upper blower tube from the blower. n Unzip the vacuum bag and place the adaptor inside as shown. n Align the raised slots on the bag adaptor with the raised locking tabs on the blower housing outlet; push the bag adaptor onto the housing. Twist to lock into place. n Rotate the vacuum bag until the shoulder strap is upright. n Make sure the vacuum bag is zipped and closed before starting the unit.
OPERATION WARNING: PREMIUM EXACT MIX™ (50:1) Do not allow familiarity with tools to make you careless. Remember that a careless fraction of a second is sufficient to inflict serious injury. WARNING: GASOLINE OIL 1 gallon (US) 1 Liter 2.6 oz. 20 cc (20 ml) FILLING THE TANK Always wear safety goggles or safety glasses with side shields when operating power tools. Failure to do so could result in objects being thrown into your eyes resulting in possible serious injury.
OPERATION STARTING AND STOPPING THROTTLE TRIGGER See Figures 8 - 9. To start an engine that is cold or has run dry: n Fill the fuel tank, if necessary. Always use the proper oil/gasoline mixture. See “Mixing the Fuel” on page 11. ENGINE SWITCH n Disengage the cruise control lever. NOTE: Do not engage the throttle trigger during the starting process. CHOKE LEVER n Slowly push the primer bulb seven times. n Set the choke lever to the START position.
OPERATION n Operate blower at the lowest possible throttle speed to do the job. n Check your equipment before operation, especially the muffler, air intakes, and air filters. n Use rakes and brooms to loosen debris before blowing. n In dusty conditions, slightly dampen surfaces when water is available. n Conserve water by using power blowers instead of hoses for many lawn and garden applications, including areas such as gutters, screens, patios, grills, porches, and gardens.
OPERATION VACUUM OPERATION n Remove the vacuum tubes and clear the debris from the blower fan housing. Remove the bag and clear the tube. A small rod or stick may be required to clear the entire tube length. Ensure that all debris has been cleared before reassembling the vacuum tubes. See Figure 13. WARNING: Never run the unit without the blower tubes installed or the vacuum door securely closed. Failure to do so could result in serious personal injury.
MAINTENANCE REPLACING AND CLEANING AIR FILTER WARNING: See Figure 14. A wet or dirty air filter can affect the way the engine starts, performs, and wears. The air filter should be checked and cleaned after 8 hours of operation. For best performance, the air filter should be replaced once each year. To clean the air filter: n Loosen the knob on the air filter cover. A leaking fuel cap is a fire hazard and must be replaced immediately.
